My baby girl that made me a mama had her 5th birthday party yesterday & it truly feels impossible that tomorrow my girl officially will be on this earth for 5 years

My brother said he was getting emotional looking at her birthday pictures because she looks so grown up 😭

She was my families first baby in 25+ years and she was grandbaby number 7 on Kevin’s side; I can truly say she has been spoiled by everyone on both sides and I’m so grateful to see my kids so loved — not a part of parenthood I was prepared to be emotional about but it’s so sweet

(Crazy fun fact: her building bestie Mason from our place in Miami, he was born in the same exact hospital as Sky here in NY; Mason dad and my husband grew up blocks from each other in far rockaway; now the kids and wife moved back up here close to my in laws; pretty sure the universe is saying our kids will HAVE TO get married cause that’s just insanity 😬😬😬)

While I was putting the baby to bed, I could see dozens of texts coming in from Kevin

Sky took his phone and sent me so many sweet voice to text notes 😭

She is my reason to try and be better every day. The reason why I need to find a treatment for my PMDD, so I can be the best mom I can to her. My gosh, she deserves the best of everything. She is magic and I cannot believe my fortune that I get to be her mom.

She attended 2/3 days of school. Yesterday she was just like… absolutely not.

Trying to see if the school will accommodate her being there half days from 12-4 or something like that. A 9a start time just doesn’t work for us (and by us, I mean Sky) 😑

We tried everything to get her to bed by 9p. She would literally jump on the bed saying “I can’t sleep!” until like 10/10:30. 🥲

Today she happily went because we let her sleep in until 9:30a (usual wake up time) and she got to school at 10:30. Picked her up at 3 and instead of collapsing into my arms, exhausted, she happily walked out.

Signed her up for ninja classes 1/week and am working on signing her up for 1 more activity. She also goes to the kids science museum every week, plus the park a couple days a week, and she’s always meeting kids in our building.

Progress is progress and I’m proud of her both for trying something when she was scared + for having the courage to tell us assertively what she wants to do with her life.

She’s 4 years old, but there’s certain things I feel like I have to trust her with, or allow both of us to make mistakes with.

I want to sign her up for a semester of a World school program via a specific “world school” (DM me if interested and I’ll share which) in 2026. Japan is opening up soon, and I’ve dreamed of taking the kids to Japan / Australia / NZ since before I was pregnant with Atlas. That was always my “first family of 4” trip in my head.

There’s plenty of other amazing countries I’m happy to live in where they have established schools / communities for 3-6 months, so I’m excited about that opportunity.

I don’t think I mentioned it but Sky has been allowed to walk for 1 week now and she’s doing so well — seeing her walk feels like a miracle, I’m so grateful. Just one follow up Xray in December to check her growth plate, but that’s it 🙏🏽

She is learning to walk again & she learned how to swim all in one week. Her happiness and joy in her body is so beautiful.

Kids are so resilient - Sky realized like 4 days into being in a cast that she could crawl to be more independent (in the house at least).

She crawls from room to room, onto her bed, off the bed, onto the couch, off the couch with 0 issues

I can’t tell you how depressed she was the first couple days when she truly felt 100% stuck wherever you put her - I’d never seen her have dead eyes before of just… sadness

She is an energizer bunny child that does not want to sit around and watch TV all day (although don’t get me wrong she loves TV but not more than being outside/playing).

Grateful for my wonderful babysitter, for all the toys and activities people have purchased for her, to see Sky adapting and pivoting. I’m so proud of her. 🌸

Having a toddler and being pregnant and sick is one of the hardest things I’ve ever physically had to do. I’m so tired.

But my gosh, hearing a little person say, “I love you so much too mommy” just 💘💘💘

It’s like, I can do this. I didn’t have this before, when I was pregnant the first time. I just barfed my life away and didn’t know what on earth was going to happen. No idea what was ahead of me.

This is what it’s all about. There’s no equivalent to hearing your baby say a genuine heartfelt “I love you” (imho)

I’m just so lucky for this girl of mine and the baby boy in my belly ✨

Things my kid has said / done in the last 24 hours that melted my mama heart 💗

- She was sitting on the couch with my brother Johnny, pointed to me/Kevin and said “they’re my best friends” 😭😭

- we got to the airport gate, she saw a little girl, and told me: “let’s go find the kids mom” and then played with that little girl for 20 minutes until they started boarding 🥹🥹🥹
