Anti Adoptees in OUAT’s Fandom: Why Adoptees Aren’t Safe and Why This Argument Holds no Water

Since pointing this out to someone condoning anti adoptee behavior got this response, I’m going to dismantle it because they think they belong to our group when they do not. Also the insults went too far. I’m not covering up names. I’m not being nice. Protect yourself against people like this. Here’s the screenie of the comments in the tags. Adoption by a step parent isn’t the same as being adopted by non biological parents with no ties to your biological family. The fact you would use this reasoning is laughable and the fact you think this makes you understand is what makes our group laugh at you. You’re not vulnerable like we are. You’re not the one being forced into prostitution to survive. You’re not having your heritage erased. You’re not the one having your birth certificate denied from you. You’re not having your citizenship questioned, even IF you were born in the country you’re living in. Your entire life is not this state secret. You’re not told to “be grateful you weren’t aborted”. You’re not called “a little shit” for identifying when you’re abused be it emotional or physical. OUAT does have a terrible adoption narrative. It denies Henry a voice and rewrites his feelings to excuse everything that Regina ever did to him. You deny this. You ignore this. You’re not “adopted” in the same way that I am and the other 2% of us are. You’re different. You’re cozy and comfy. You’re protected. Narratives belonging to Henry are not that cozy and comfy. If you went missing as a child, everyone would have looked for you. If I went missing as a child, I would have been called a “runaway” despite that the likelihood would have been that my birthfather had abducted me to rape and kill me. Get it? You get it? You get it? No one cares about US. Everyone cares about you. Everyone cares about Regina. No one cares about Henry and you and the fandom makes it well known, you little privleged brat calling “racism”. I call discrimination because Henry isn’t getting his story told. It’s an important story because everything that ever happened to his life is being actively ignored. Just like you’re ignoring all of my points. This woman is a terrible person and the fact that she isn’t an OUAT blog doesn’t mean anything. It’s the fact she has terrible opinions about what adoption is, what the expectations are, and what a REAL adoption narrative is.

As a Cruella de Mills shipper I’m pleased but as a GA member also I would pitch a fit if I couldn’t get a photo with the 2 main women. Like???

Yeah that’s just the weird part. I mean Colin is also kind of a lead (not really, but at least a regular character like Lana and Jen) but considering his character doesn’t really interact with Regina it just doesn’t make a lot of sense to pair them up.

I have no idea what’s the what here, but it’s really weird for sure and I get why some people are a bit miffed that they finally have Lana and Jen at the same con and then there’s no ops/etc with them both. It’s like ??? indeed. When will such an occasion arise again, truly?
