Lena Luthor Week:
Day 7: Favorite Storyline/Dynamic -> Lena & Kara
HELLA’S VALENTINE’S DAY COUNTDOWN ’22 💙 7. emily & sue (dickinson)
When I’m with you, that is the only time I feel alive.
The first time Kara notices is during sister night.
She forgets exactly what they were talking about. She remembers being on her couch, cuddled up beside Alex. She remembers the dumb Christmas movie they were watching – and rewriting it in her head because the lead obviously had more chemistry with the best friend character. She remembers the topic somehow turning to Lena.
“She’s your… friend.”
And she remembers the lengthy, blatantly obvious pause preceeding the word friend. She wanted to ask about it, but Alex carried on with whatever she was saying, and it slipped out of Kara’s mind.
lena coming out of lcorp or the foundation building or whatever in a leather jacket, putting on a motorcycle helmet, going out to the edge of the street and sticking her thumb out like she’s hitchhiking… then supergirl just drops out of the sky right beside her, lena hops up into her arms, and they fly off together.
Lena steps out of the building into the chill autumn air, breathing a sigh of relief as a fall breeze plucks at the ends of her hair. Hitching her shoulders, she tugs her leather jacket more comfortably around her shoulders. She’s grateful for the fleece trimming the collar– perfect for a breezy autumn afternoon.
Running the foundation is different than piloting L-Corp… there’s less demands on her time from people who assume the worst from her. With the Foundation, people want her to succeed, expect it, even.
Even so, there’s something freeing in the moment she leaves the work day behind.
She nods at the security guard posts out front– a formality, more than for any actual need. There hasn’t been an attempt on her life in months, which is freeing in its own bizarre way.
“Have a good weekend, Tom,” Lena calls. “Tell the missus I said hello.”
“Will do, ma'am,” Tom replies. “No car this evening?”
Lena shakes her head with a grin. “I’ve already got a ride.”
With that, she puts two fingers between her teeth and gives a shrill whistle. It echoes loudly against the buildings lining the street, turning heads along the entire block. Then she starts to count.
One
Two
Three
Four
Just before she reaches the count of five, another breeze tousles Lena’s hair from a new direction, as Supergirl herself appears at Lena’s side.
Kara beams at her. “You rang?”
Lena saunters up to her, looping her arms around the hero’s neck with a slow, lazy smile. “I did.”
The hands that were perched on suited hips immediately find their home sliding around Lena’s waist, pulling her close. When Kara kisses her, it’s with the same tempered passion as their first– enthusiastic yet reverent.
“Hey,” Kara says, pulling back to look into Lena’s eyes. “Ready to go home?”
“You bet.”
In a blink, Lena is hoisted effortlessly into slender arms, bridal style. She endures an unseemly tilt so that Kara can throw a two finger salute in Tom’s direction.
“Evening, Tom.”
“Miss Kara. Fly safe, now.”
“Always do.”
The next thing Lena knows, they’re soaring into the air, a straight shot towards the heavens. Such trips have disabused Lena of her fear of flying– at least when she’s cradled in arms of steel. Now, she thinks she might not mind, if her feet never touched the ground again.
you're one in a million (Miss Congeniality AU CH 3)
Yes it's been like 2 months but butch fish out of water Kara is my beloved so here is some more!!
“What is the one most important thing our society needs?”
Kara can’t help it. She knows the answer she’s supposed to give, but it’s not the right one. And some part of her wants to see Lillian squirm.
“That would be increased gun control and large-scale justice reforms, Lillian,” Kara says easily.
The silence is deafening. Kara can see a few faces in the first few rows, ranging from shock to discomfort to delight - somewhere at the back something clatters to the floor and echoes through the theatre, and when Kara glances offstage she can see Lena waiting in the wings for her turn and struggling not to laugh.
Lillian’s eye starts to twitch.
“And,” Kara finishes after a long pause, her winningest smile still firmly affixed, “world peace.”
The crowd finally claps with what feels like relief, slightly louder than any of the contestants before, and Kara strides off the stage before Lillian can unhinge her jaw and swallow her like a python.
Cat is going to kill her.

stay, and i’ll be loving you for quite some time
#fuck the cw except when they dress lena like this
LENA LUTHOR IN EVERY EPISODE OF SUPERGIRL.
“Lena is the woman that I wish I was. I’m not. I’m anxious and scared, and sometimes don’t even want to leave my bedroom and the comfort of a cup of tea and a good book. But you look at somebody like Lena, who is vulnerable and she’s scared, she still gets up, and she still fights. For me, personally as Katie, that’s what a hero is: when you feel fear, and you still do it. Lena, as a character, was that for me. To be able to spend five years playing somebody that I admire, and that I wish I was, I like to think that maybe she’s given me a little bit of it. Not a lot because I’m still me, but hopefully I’m a little bit of a better version of myself. I have her to thank for that.” -KM (x)
Thinking about Kara was literally going to let Metallo Lena kill her in the 100th episode without a fight. Like there really was no motivation for that except romantic love. Like she knew that wasn’t her Lena, just someone who shared her face but she still couldn’t bring herself to fight back. The idea of hurting her was so inconceivable. And then when Lena locked her in that ice in the fortress the way she asked “are you gonna kill me” it was like she had already given up. She would rather die than fight Lena under any circumstances and they literally made that point multiple times. The only logical reasoning was Kara was absolutely in love with her. Not to mental the ramifications of the way Lena reacted to Kara’s betrayal. The visceral pain and anger she experienced could only come from someone who’s heart was broken by someone they were in love with. God, the queerbait is undeniable just with those 3 pieces of evidence
“hey you” is inherently romantic idc
