Allison Scott
This is Allison’s second year as an AmeriCorps member and Programs Liaison with YAC.
She moved here from San Francisco, CA, where she attended undergraduate school at San Francisco State University. There she studied sociology with a minor in sexuality studies. While in San Francisco, Allison worked with non-profit organizations such as LYRIC, CUAV, and Seneca Center. Allison is also a musician, who enjoys collaborative music projects, as well as personal ones. Her favorite artists are Miles Davis and Rebelution. Artistically, she is most inspired by nature, and the diverse kinds of people she interacts with throughout her life.
Allison’s role at YAC is to support each program and its participants, design and implement Unity Events that will occur throughout the year, and aid in office work. She is looking forward to continuing her growth within a community that creatively works towards social justice and youth empowerment. YAC inspires Allison through its collaborative means of creating social change through art, and supporting youth expression in public spaces. Allison is driven by her passion to learn and grow, and is excited to see what she will bring to the community.
