Since all Big Hit and BTS care about is making numbers in the US, and they believe THAT is what shows what ARMY like. It realized a Korean song will from now on ALWAYS look like a flop to them. They will always think we don’t like it, because it won’t chart in the US. That is so wrong and fucked up! I wish they would look at other things than American numbers. We are a majority of ARMY who are not American.... please... I’m so worried... I’m so worried they will think we don’t like their Korean music.... and they will stop making it. Please don’t forget the ARMYs who came before Dynamite, we are still a majority. Please remember us.

This is the producer of “My Time”, he often speaks with and comments on ARMY. (If he knows this, it means it’s a big thing in the fandom!)

I have two things to say.

1. I agree with him, if you don’t like ONE song and this makes you not like the artist anymore, you were never really a fan. If you not liking Permission to Dance - as the only thing you ever unliked about BTS - means you unstan them now, then you were never really into the boys in first place. That’s not true love. (What he might not get is a lot of people don’t like a lot of their last songs and the way they have been going the past year. But anyways, that’s another topic.)

2. I think he means “support” in just being there for them, sending love and maybe buy an album if you have money for it. However, I really like to point something out, in case he might mean something else. 

You DON’T have to stream or buy something you don’t like. Don’t stream and buy Permission to Dance, if you won’t want to!! Being ARMY has to be a good thing, make you happy. It shouldn’t feel like a burden or wrong. I think this is something I learned this time. I streamed and bought Dynamite even though I didn’t like it, but it still felt like the boys. But this time, I’m not streaming and buying Permission to Dance because it feels SO far from the boys. 

And that’s OKAY! As a fandom we should allow this! We should accept this from ARMY, we are not robots.  ALSO streaming and buying is the ONLY way to show the boys what we like!! Let’s not give them the wrong picture. Let them not think we LOVE Permission to Dance when SUCH a big part of the fandom has a really hard time with it. If they think we love it, they will keep making music like this!! And I’m SO afraid this will happen.

Can you explain what do you mean by American comeback? (I’m simply curious). Do you mean like American style music like dynamite or when albums are released which target American market?

It’s the songs - Dynamite and Butter - so far. Hopefully and with a mio. fingers crossed it’a not gonna be a whole album, I’m not sure I could take that. I made a loooong explanation - and then realized you actually only asked if it was the song or the album. Anyways, here you go anyways 😆:

Dynamite and Butter are american comebacks, since everything is targeted and only promoted to the american audience - the general american public that is, not ARMY. They don’t promote these songs in Korea. The songs are in English and the distribution company in USA - Columbia Records - promote the songs A LOT (they don’t do shit with any of their other music), they go to all radio stations and play the songs for them. Also, the American radio stations actually play these songs, because they are in English - they don’t play the Korean ones. Besides that Big Hit releases a looot of remixes so the song can stay on Billboard 100, and they also target GRAMMY very much with these songs.

Also, besides the songs being in English the lyrics are on purpose not very deep, (very different from what we usually get from BTS), because the American audience like it simple and “dumbed down” (Joonie said this). The music genre is also chosen to fit the American audience (the same way they do with Japanese songs). And the way the song is built - I can only speak for Dynamite of course - is SO western and generic, you don’t usually see this in K-pop where they play with the genres and the songs changes all the time through the song, not one dull moment.

And last, but in no way least, the whole concept - the colors, the clothes, the themes, the grafic, the music video AND the cheography is VERY western and American in it’s style, it looks nothing like k-pop or the style they have in their Korean concept. The same can be said about their Japanese concepts ^^

I tried not to get too angry through this, I could easily have said a lot of very bad things - but I tried just to be informative ☺️!!

In the past 12 months we got 13 different songs not counting remixes and collabs and only 3 of them have been in English literally what's the point of being so dramatic when they said themselves they still don't want to let go of mots until they get to perform songs from that era

Well... they just canceled the tour though. So... But sure, I still have hopes they will make room for some of their Korean songs on their future tour - which will probably be “Dynamite-tour”, or some unknown American album we might get.

I don’t know if there is a point in being dramatic, but that’s just how I feel! The fear of losing something you love makes you dramatic. I am a drama queen sometimes!

And yes, I love BE. But it was still planned and made before Dynamite and their succes with making genetic American dance pop. Butter had been planned for since last year. Probably since Dynamite became a hit. So how are we to know Big Hit isn’t deciding that’s the way from now on? To make American songs and drag them as loooong as possible for money. The past 9 months sure point in that direction (only 3 new songs, two American, releasing the same album twice, releasing a CD with only two songs at the same price as a full album). The last 12 months especially show it, Dynamite probably being the most performed song ever, even the boys are tired of it. The boys almost haven’t performed the tracks from BE.

When you love something or someone deeply from your heart, it's only natural to not being able to accept sudden changes. I would know. So i totally understand where you might be coming from. And by the way of your words i think you have been a fan for a long time now. I was a part of another fandom of a band before BTS. Idk much about what's going on with the BTS boys or their company. I'm sorry if i seem like i don't care about it, it's just my understanding about these things aren't that good to make comments. I have seen how these guys have enough freedom to do their own things without asking anything from anyone about anything! So i just don't seem to think they are ever forced to do the things they wouldn't want to do. So even if it's the slightest i think the guys don't exactly mind what they are doing at the moment. Given how the results aren't exactly disappointing. Also being someone who loves trying out new things and ambitious, i would guess maybe that's something they are doing as well. But that's just my opinion, i don't know what's really up. I just know as long as it's not anything that goes against my morals i have nothing against it. It's the same for anyone else even.

Anyways, that's not my what i'm here to talk about, sending you yet another ask! It's just i hope you would find your own peace and joy in your heart regardless what these guys or anyone else ever decides to do. In the end it's their choice to make. I don't think i'm making much sense anymore so sorry if this appears to be a mindless babbling, just ignore it please.

I looked at this matter as a person trying to not pose my opinions or beliefs on another person. It's a personal things ig, to be a better person. That was the whole point why i bothered to send that first ask.

The boys are mature people who can decide for themselves, and i would support them like i mentioned before as i would for any of my dear ones. With no imposed ideals of my own, even if i disagree, i wouldn't, cause that's not my place to do so.

I just wish we all would realize this simple fact. Cause this way no would have to be forced to be someone or do something they don't want or didn't decide for themselves. There are so many people out there feeling poisoned by the voices of others, and that is what bothers me. I never like anyone telling me what to do, i would never want anyone facing that either. I would rather cheer for all and everyone to be able to do the things they want to do, people they want to become and celebrate freedom like that!🎉🎉

And if we can't seem to be able to support it, well i just pray we still find peace in our hearts and be able to wish goodness.

Please ignore this stupid ask which is unnecessarily long and turned out to be nothing but a personal ranting!! Really sorry! I just carried away. You support or not, i hope for you to be happy regardless of anything. I didn't expect you to answer the last ask either since not most people can agree with something that can be contradicting to their view. So that was very big of you.

and the thing is a lot of people will fight tooth and nail that people hate it just because it’s in english and that it has no meaning. they have made tons of hype songs with no meaning (dionysus, gogo, ugh!, boys with fun) it’s just not that good of a song. i really don’t now what angle hybe is trying to hit, but it feels like they’re trying to get another grammy redo. i’m not gonna unstan because of a couple songs or even an album i don’t like

If you think Dionysus, Go go and Ugh! has no meaning I think you need to do some research ;)

But I agree with you on the rest. I'm VERY unhappy about them making English songs, but if the songs were good it wouldn't really be a problem anymore!
