Im not American, can someone explain to me this Speaker of the House thing thats going on?
i just watched the 30 second video of john mccain breaking party lines & voting no to repeal obamacare without a replacement. it’s nearly 1:30 in the morning, & he comes out of the side, two aides opening the double doors for him. he walks right up to the center desk & puts his hand out, silently demanding attention, offering a soft but firm, “ no. ” i’m literally tearing up. gasps & clapping sound throughout the room but somehow it’s still quiet. i’m not really his biggest fan, but that... was a really great thing he did there. all over the news this morning, the headlines read ‘the entire trump presidency is officially a failure’ & we’re doing things like calling this ‘failure friday’.
idk just sometimes people give me so much fuckin’ hope.
