honestly, she (or at least another of her gem type) may have also been why i reacted so violently when people suggested amethyst had a whip bcus she would have been assigned a similar job??

What do you remember about rose? (From pearl or amethyst's perspective)

She was wonderful and soft and her voice was lovely (but we all knew that)

She was an amazing general, and just wanted to protect who she could. She even tried to keep me (Pearl) from getting too badly hurt. She’d carry me when I struggled to walk after I regenerated and taught me (among other Pearls) to think and love and learn. I was assigned to her under the name Pink Diamond, but she insisted I call her Rose Quartz from the day we met. I never had a problem with it (Diamonds made me nervous)

After the war, she took me (Amethyst) in only because she cared. I think she missed her soldiers if I’m honest. She was like a real mom to me. She was always holding me when I asked and answered my questions and taught me pretty much anything I wanted to know if she didn’t hand that responsibility off to Pearl (I really loved teaching)
