I've been having a lot of conversations recently with people about Ancestors and how many of us rely on them on a daily basis and have always had altars for them. And how many of us really need to start. So, I put this together so that you could clear a special spot and call upon your ancestors. You can make an altar as simple or as elaborate as you would like. For most altars it is appropriate to have photos of your ancestors but if you don't have that or they are unknown, that is OK! You can use symbols of things that they liked or that represent them. You also want to have offering. Tobacco, candy, food are always good choices. So are alcohol and coffee or tea. You can also burn incense or light a candle on a daily or weekly basis. (I say good morning to my ancestors every day and light a candle that stays lit all day while I'm in my home.) I am including a tea light that will be dressed with Florida water. I used a combination of amethyst and labradorite because of how they connect and facilitate communication to our higher selves and ancestors. Copal is also sacred in use as incense send our prayers to them. (Although you don't necessarily have to burn it, I like to just rub it with my finger while I talk to my ancestors.) I am including a quartz point that can be used for any intentions or requests for your ancestors. Also for anyone getting this, I include another bead or stone specifically for a particular ancestor. Just tell me a little about them and I will find something suitable. And if the ancestor is unknown that is perfectly fine.
