I’m Not Superstitious...

I haven’t dropped into to Cover Friday for a while -- I posted regularly for a year, until I realized that Tumblr and music just weren’t working for me.   Music streams into my consciousness like language, or someone talking, and when I’m at my computer I’m working.   Or focused on creating something, or learning something.  So, listening to music on Tumblr was like multitasking, and it was making me less effective.  So I quit.

That said, I stumped the DJ at a wedding reception this weekend.   He was full up with 70s and 80s dance music -- lots of EWF.   Rick James!   But no Ami Stewart.   This is a remake of a classic 60′s song by Eddie Floyd and OMG Steve Cropper.   Who knew.

Today, Ami Stewart is an entertainer and Unicef ambassador.   Again, who knew.

In 1981 Disco Diva Ami Stewart, of Washington DC, covered the Motown Classic "Where Did Our Love Go?" Ami's cover was by no means the big hit that was recorded and issued by a R&B One Hit Wonder in 1971!
