AMiF AWARDS - NOMINATION/VOTING CRITERIA
Open to bands based and active in Falkirk during 2015.
A link to the band’s SoundCloud page can be submitted with the nomination. Additionally an optional written entry/nomination containing details of the band’s accomplishments during 2015 can also be submitted. Links to the band’s website, or preferred online source can also be submitted with the entry/nomination if applicable. The musical performance of the group as a unit – both recorded and live – will be taken into consideration.
2. BEST SOLO/ACOUSTIC ACT
Open to individuaL artists/musicians based and active in Falkirk during 2015.
A link to the artist’s SoundCloud page must be submitted with the nomination as a minimum requirement. Additionally an optional written entry/nomination containing details of the artist’s accomplishments during 2015 can also be submitted. Links to the artist’s website, or preferred online source can also be submitted with the entry/nomination if applicable. The musical performance of the artist – both recorded and live – will be taken into consideration.
Open to rock/metal/punk bands based and active in Falkirk during 2015.
A link to the band’s SoundCloud page can be submitted with the nomination. Additionally an optional written entry/nomination containing details of the band’s accomplishments during 2015 can also be submitted. Links to the band’s website, or preferred online source can also be submitted with the entry/nomination if applicable. The musical performance of the group as a unit – both recorded and live – will be taken into consideration.
Open to electronic acts or DJ’s based and active in Falkirk during 2015.
A link to the act’s SoundCloud page can be submitted with the nomination. Additionally an optional written entry/nomination containing details of the band’s accomplishments during 2015 can also be submitted. Links to the band’s website, or preferred online source can also be submitted with the entry/nomination if applicable. The musical performance of the group as a unit – both recorded and live – will be taken into consideration.
Open to the artists of songs recorded or released during 2015. The vote is open to any demo/EP/Recording/single. An online link to the recording must be made available as a minimum requirement. Only the musical recording submitted will be taken into consideration.
6. LIVE VENUE OF THE YEAR
Open to venues of any size which have presented live alternative music events during 2015. Customer service, successful venue management, facilities, equipment and services available in-house for artists and promoters should be taken into consideration when casting vote. The venue’s accomplishments and support of artist(s) in Falkirk during 2015 will also be taken into consideration.
7. LIVE ALTERNATIVE MUSIC EVENT OF THE YEAR
Open to any live music event(s) which occurred during 2015.
The overall output of shows as well as quality and innovation in such areas as ticketing, marketing and user-friendliness within the industry should be taken into consideration. The event(s)’ accomplishments and support of artist(s) in Falkirk during 2015 should also be taken into consideration.
8. MUSIC BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
Open to any music business: manager/management company, promotion company, record label, recording studio, music retailer etc. The business’ accomplishments and support of alternative artist(s) in Falkirk (if relevant) during 2015 should be taken into consideration.
A. Judges and associated acts can be nominated, however nominated judges will not be able to vote for themselves or any nominees they are associated with.
B. Criteria subject to amendment during the nomination period. Any major amendments will be noted below.
C. Voting system will allow 2 or 3 votes per IP, if voting choices non-identical more will be allowed.
D. Proposed Change: All categories apart from best song to be mixed public and Judges vote.
E. Previous proposed change scrapped; final outcome is that Best Band, Solo, Rock, Electronic, Newcomer and Event will be mixed Public/Judge Panel vote. All remaining categories will be 100% public vote.
