Whether you're on stage or standing in front of me, you're still the same Do Ra-ik. I like you. All of you. Just the way you are.

Choi Soo-Young as Maeng Se-Na Kim Jae-Young as Do Ra-Ik
SIR YOURE BEING INDICTED FOR MURDER? ONE STEP CLOSER TO JAIL???? WHY R U SMILING AND BITING YOUR LIP RN ? PRIORITIES????
i think there's something really interesting and nice about how sooyoung is in her 30s while sena is a dedicated fangirl at the same time as she has a full career. because the conversations about fame and love and being seen as a shell that sells things and says buzzwords wouldn't have the same understated and genuine feeling if sena wasn't old enough and mature enough to just let go of her preconceived notions of raik and see him as a person.
she doesn't respond, she doesn't yell out endless compliments to negate what he's saying. she just looks at him with what i think is a mix of emotions. it's like, a few episodes ago she realized that it's dumb to feel jealous of his ex because the actual human being raik is not her romantic prop. and in this convo i think that's continuing, it's both her sadness at raik seeing himself as essentially not existing unless someone's looking at him, combined with a realization that she knew as much about these true feelings as she knew he was lactose intolerant.
and again, she listens to him quietly, and in a sense i think she's also observing him -- not as a fan but as a fellow person. observing what raik isn't seeing about himself while he says these things. i think the surprise and maturity and understated compassion that sooyoung projects in this scene is really wonderful, probably because of her own maturity and maybe because she also is/was an idol. i just really like the dynamic of these two right now
The HELL! We are ready to fight the world for being so cruel to this broken man. A handful of episodes in and starting to wonder how he hasn't turned into a mummy from shedding so many tears!
But the one we are crushing on is this competent bad ass. Plus she's a fangirl, so she would get us.
