9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
Oh boy that’s a tough one. I had a lot of scenes when I first started out on this that I was really excited about writing (and by excited, I mean I literally had some of them written before I’d even finished planning). I’d have to say, though, I think my favorite to write was the scene in chapter six where Miyuki wakes up on the couch with Eijun. It’s the kind of Soft and Warm I really enjoy out of this ship sometimes.
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
Truth be told? This isn’t quite the ending that was in my outline. I had plans to have it end more on the legal side of things. I was going to detail more about the trials, and how they’d gone about arresting everyone involved, and Rei was going to be lobbying local governments to have laws to ensure fair treatment to everyone, regardless of what they were.
But then I wrote this whole fic and...that ending felt a little impersonal. Would I love to write Rei being a crusader for social justice? Of course. But the note I really wanted to end this fic on was that everyone was healing from all the trauma I put them through. They’re not all the way better (that’s why Miyuki in particular isn’t fully healed yet) but they will be someday, and that’s the feeling I wanted to leave the main arc of the story on.
46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
I am planning a sequel! (prequel?) In July for Camp Nanowrimo, I’ll be going back 4 years from the start of “Every Little Thing He Does is Magic” and writing the story of how Tetsu and Jun met and started dating. It won’t be quite as life or death as the first two (no one will be in danger of dying, I promise) but it will deal with both what it’s like to be a creature less favored by society (werewolf) and what it’s like to be a normal human in a world where magic exists.
As far as direct sequels go, I don’t have anything formal planned, but I do have some ideas for a kind of “deleted scenes” mini series to go along with this au. I’m willing to take suggestions and requests, but some things that will probably get written are: Ryou in physical therapy directly after the events of DYFAM, Miyuki and Eijun’s first time, Ryou meeting Kuramochi’s mom, Miyuki and Eijun getting bitched out by the entire team for being idiots and going off on their own, Haruichi and Furuya going out on a date...stuff like that.
