My friend Alyssa just told me that Jensen Ackles is the hardest person in the world to draw and then she sent me a picture of her drawing and I was expecting a stick figure and I GOT THIS INSTEAD
I've been tagged (dammit Avery). (check my tags to see if I've tagged you!)
Rule 1: post the rules
Rule 2: answer all the questions the tagged set for you, and then set eleven of your own.
Rule 3: tag eleven people and link them to your post.
1. What is your name [if you could pick any name at all]? Let's see. Well, I've always loved the name Flannery. So, erm, maybe Flannery Jones. It sounds like I'd be in a fifties spy thriller.
2. What is your quest? I suppose, at the moment, my current quest is to find out who I am. Who this "me" is that resides in my skull. I'm well aware that this is a quest that may take a lifetime or two or three billion, but I always like quests that don't have a definite ending. Also, it's comforting to know that everyone else is on this same quest. It's like Lord of the Rings and I get to be Legolas. ALSO I would like to be a guest-writer on Supernatural because I would make Destiel canon.
3.What is your favorite color? __My favorite color to wear is red. My favorite color to see is that soft orange-y glow you get on the trees every once in awhile when the sun is setting.
4. Where would you like to go? __At the moment, the place I would most like to go is London. Which, conveniently, is where I get to travel over spring break! Malarky!
5. What makes you happy? __Tea, cake, QI, and being with my best friends. And, generally, after I'm done writing something that I'm half satisfied with, I get all warm and fuzzy and all that jazz.
6. What movie do you want to see this week? __Some hoodlums and I are going to see the midnight premiere of Life of Pi tomorrow which I am, strictly speaking, balls to the walls excited for. It was probably one of the best books I've read this year (possibly my whole life?) so I'm really excited to see it translated to the big screen. Also, I really want to go see Lincoln, because my voice is in it, and I want to gloat to people because, honestly, that is probably the only cool thing I will ever accomplish in my life.
7. What is your favorite thing about yourself? __Mm. Let's see. I'm really working on loving myself more. Soooo I'm going to say that physically: I like my hips because they're big and round and, really, do I need a reason to like my hips? I just do. Not physically: I guess I'd like to say that I like my ability to translate human experience into the written word? Ya know, if I'm going to be all pretentious about it.
8. What five books should everyone read? __The Book Thief, A Little Princess, The Fault in Our Stars, Pride & Prejudice, and Hamlet. So, go do that.
9. Is there something you were taught in life that you have come to think is ill-advised or ridiculous? __I hope I don't offend any of my more religious followers, but honestly, I have come to think that religion/God in general is ridiculous. I've never felt more stifled or horrified than when I was in church or in Sunday school. Even now, when my parents drag me along to mass for Christmas or Easter, I get all anxious and jittery.
10. Do you spend more time considering the past or the future? Or are you like Ted Mosby and you don’t live in Ohio, but rather, you live in the moment? __The first two. It's something I'm working on. But I feel extremely guilty about things from my past, and extremely anxious about my future. Striving for the present moment, though. Maybe that's the first step of my 'quest.'
11. If you could write a haiku about how you feel right now, what would it look like?
I tap my foot, down,
Down, my heart feels bright and hot,
Elvis shades my gloom.

1. If you had to live on one food for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
Oh my goodness, umm, either macaroni and cheese or strawberries.
2. Ideally, where would you like to live for the rest of your life?
Ideally? I'd like to be hired at a publishing house in London and live smack dab in the city and have a small little flat and possibly meet/marry Benedict Cumberbatch. So, London.
3. What are you most proud of (an accomplishment, a possession, a personality trait, etc.)?
I was really proud of lots of the articles I wrote this year for my New Yorker class. I've never felt more proud of my writing.
4. In 20 years, do you think you’ll still be friends with people you’re friends with now?
I don't want to my cynical, but I feel like my friend group may dwindle down these next few years, but I'm positive a handful of us will be tight our entire lives.
5. Put your music player on shuffle and list the first five songs that come up. Now, give a memory or story to go along with each of them.
One and Only-Adele...Baking cookies on a rainy day, belting this song (badly).

7. Who is one musician you hope to see in concert some day?
SONDRE LERCHE. I LOVE HiS NORWEGIAN-NESS.
