Chapter 1 - Howdy Do, Fellow Kids.
The desert sun really doesn’t care. Tropical sun in a deity, and the people are coddled by humidity and buffered from what would otherwise - like in Oasis Flats - be heat-rays of doom. That was really the only issue with the area. The sun hurt, the sand hurt, the wind hurt, and so the people hurt too.
“So I take it you’re still talking to that idiot?” He strained, smoke in his throat.
‘God, if you’re gonna smoke, at least use organic tobacco’ was really all she could think of him. ‘Not that being on my phone is the international symbol for ‘leave me alone’ or anything, sure just ask about my personal life’, but it came out more like “....uh, wait, sorry...what?”
He rolled his eyes and hastily shoved out another drag. He didn’t get a headspin anymore, at least not from the nicotine. “Holy shit, Liv. Got off your phone.”
