Late Nights and Lysosomes | Gwen and Bobbi
They said that the worst was over, and in all honesty, Gwen didn't know how much more she could take. At first her days in the Institute were spent in pain, and her own body had felt awkward and unfamiliar. That had eventually ceased though and everyone on Observation had praised her quick recovery and apparent progress. She certainly would have felt more proud if she knew what she was recovering from, but the last thing the staff seemed interested in was catching her up on the details.
But she had made it through the long physical therapy sessions and therapy sessions. Everyone said she was progressing, and in the near future Gwen could almost imagine getting her life back. Her internship, her mother, Peter. They were almost all back into her reach and she was going to dot every i and cross every t to make sure that she got back to them as soon as possible.
Setting her pencil down, Gwen pushed off of the tiny stool she had been perched on and slowly stretched out her back. It was still a little stiff from her supposed accident, but it was a manageable ache now. One of the few things she could do was access the labs, and with luck the more time she spent squinting into a microscope the less time she had to think about just where she was. Grabbing the notes she had managed to compile, Gwen made it a remarkable two steps before realizing that she wasn't alone and there was another person in the lab as well. Shifting the papers in her arms, it almost seemed too good to be true.
She hadn't really got to interact with many others while under Observation, and the loneliness was threatening to eat away at her more and more every day. The Maximoff Twins had cells near her, but they weren't exactly the most outgoing two. The sight of a girl who was around her own age and not outwardly evil was enough to make her stop and count to ten in her head to confirm that she was real.
"Hi." Gwen took a step closer, her voice sounding oddly loud in the empty lab.
