I haven’t seen any maps for the vent system or where the security cams are. So i decided to make some! it took me awhile, cuz i had to 1 get imposter (which i rarely get) and 2 survive long enough to make notes on where all the vents lead.
I am planning to make an Among Us video for my YouTube channel, Akemi StormBorn. We will be playing on the new Airship Map. A minimum of 6 players is needed to have the good gaming experience, but 10 players for the OPTIMAL experience!
The date is 14th April 2021 (Wednesday for me), and the time is 8 PM IST (Indian Standard Time). We will attempt to record for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour. Whoever wants to join and have fun playing Among Us, REBLOG this post with what color you wish to be (make sure it's not taken) and name you wish to use.
We will be using Discord Voice chat to communicate so make sure you are comfortable with that first, okay?

since it has recently hit me y'all actually don't know about my rampant submerged obsession (i changed my name to it on discord for a while and went rabid any time someone mentioned it, along with forcing my friends at a gun point to play it) here's me taking it to tumblr!
SUBMERGED BREAKDOWN - AND WHY I LOVE THIS MAP MORE THAN ANYTHING INNERSLOTH HAS EVER MADE
1. environment
i could write a book, but what i really think my love for it mainly comes down to environmental storytelling.
a) task where you refill your water bottle? it's not just a thermos. it's YOUR thermos. all those stickers and decorations make it feel like this bottle truly belongs to someone. makes me wonder what they're meant to represent and what their interests are.
b) blanket
it looks like a child's blanket, with a plushie next to it to. the implications are haunting.
c) a squishmellow
located right next to the blanket, there appears to be someone's abandoned buddy - a squishmellow frog. is it a child's toy or someone's comfort in the face of horror?
d) pictures
there's picture frames hung on the walls in certain parts of the map, mostly depicting the crew, which is pretty cool that we get the faces of these people, but also of someone with their pet. adorable! (and again, dark af)
e) sticky notes
in the cafe, you will find a microwave task, which if you open, you will be greeted by a few sticky notes. when i tell you this actually took my breath away first time experiencing it. it assigns the tiniest bit of personality to the crew, really making the circumstances of among us hit harder. like wow, those are people and they're essentially getting hunted and killed for sport. it also makes you wonder what happened to the people that were there before you.
also yes, i canonically signed the microwave guys, it's mine now.
f) books actually have titles
you ever wondered what crewmates are reading? well now you know.

try and compare submerged to any other map now. if you try and take medbay for example, notice how empty it looks on skeld, airship, polus and mira.
sure, equipment is there, but it's completely devoid of personality, and for a very simple reason - there's no PERSONAL items. if you compare any other map to submerged, they truly start to feel STERILE - empty, unused, whereas submerged feels LIVED-IN. it's like walking into that one friend's house whose parents think that if their room looks like someone lives in it, it's messy. that's always been my main problem with all innersloth maps and submerged fixes it perfectly.
well perhaps medbay is a bad example as it's supposed to be sterile. what about cafeteria?
the food cart, ACTUAL FOOD, the dirty dishes.
2. LAYOUT
i'm in love with the idea of 2 separate floors. not much else to say about it. the concept of elevators as the only way to move between floors is amazing, and gives a great sense of claustrophobia, especially if you're not in one alone.
on the topic of floors, there is a vent connecting them, but i wouldn't advise using it if on kill cooldown - the hatch is broken, so anyone can see you sticking out.
3. CATS
i think this one is self-explanatory. tho i do gotta wonder how these guys got in.
4. CREATIVITY
a) tasks
one of my favorite things that this map did is timed tasks. well, one in particular. to observe a whale through a telescope, you need to be in the observatory during a specific time window, or else you're gonna miss the whale that's just going to leave. then you have to wait until it's visible again.
i really like that, since the mod is for pc only, some tasks have an original way to interact with them - be it via using the letters on your keyboard (reset breakers) or tracking your mouse (fish tank).
while we're at the topic.... WHY IS NO ONE CONCERNED ABOUT THE FACT OUR WALLS ARE LEAKING AND WHY ARE WE FIXING THEM WITH TAPE??? HELLO??? TAPE????
b) sabotages
there are 3 things i enjoy about sabs on this map, first being the way you interact with them. since sabo button opens a map, and this map has 2 floors, you need to pick the floor your sabo is located on.
the second thing i really enjoy is that lights out are lights OUT - at least for a few seconds, before you get your, i'm assuming, flashlight of sorts. i think that's pretty neat and slightly terrifying.
the third one and probably the biggest game changer is the completely new, reworked o2 sabo submerged added. so you know how annoying it is as an impostor (and as a crewmate tbh) that all sabs only take 1 or 2 people to fix, while the rest gets to ignore it and be on their mary way?
well, not on submerged. during the oxygen sabo, you have 25 seconds to drop whatever you're doing and run to upper/lower central to put on an oxygen mask. as the time goes on, you start to black out, making it harder to see where you're going. if you let the timer reach 0, you drop dead right then and there.
c) other map quirks
the floor between upper and lower central is seethrough, meaning you can catch someone slipping from above!
the security camera ui truly reminds me of some overly complicated fnaf fangame lol.
oh, and have i told you you can sabotage those manually? just don't let anyone see you doing it from the other end of the lens.
