orphaned as a youth for unknown reasons, amora was scouted at a young age by karnilla, the queen of the norns and odin's royal sorceress, as being a girl of exceptional potential and urged odin to allow her to take the orphan amora on as her apprentice. prior to karnilla's apparent act of kindness and altruism, amora resided in an asgardian orphanage and lived several years in relative normalcy.

karnilla twisted this eventuality in her favour after a vision of amora's profound and chaotic potential struck her - she displaced amora's parents, turning them into trees in her nornwood and removed any memory of their existence ; such a thing was orchestrated at odin's behest, a way to try and harness the girl's potential so that it might be controlled through karnilla's tutelage.

through her studies, she was devoted to the allure of sorcery but displayed a willingness to use her other gifts, often seducing individuals in exchange for greater knowledge. seen as defiant and uncontrollable, amora was warned on several occasions that her nature would jeopardize her promised role as the royal sorceress once thor became king - despite these warnings, amora kept true to herself and gained unprecedented power.

odin and karnilla's bid to control amora's power inevitably fails. it is in their fear and inadequacy that they banish amora from asgard, hoping that this will remove amora's power and ultimately kill her but they were too late. already a powerful sorceress named the enchantress, amora finds a way to survive away from her homeland with her powers intact and thriving.

she is kept in the nothingness of exile for a time, stewing in her hatred for odin which only widens her thirst for supremacy. her need for power and the manipulation that it breeds is more than dominance and hides a deeper need that she believes only she can satisfy.

during the incursion by the dark elf malekith, amora apparently shifted allegiances and grew close with the dark elf as he quested after the aether for the purpose of double-crossing him. after malekith's defeat with amora's help, she was brought before odin and thor to face judgement over her supposed wrongdoings and was banished from asgard after it was decided that her truth was a lie. it was then that the truth of her upbringing was revealed by karnilla, the fact that her parents were taken to the nornwood so that amora was able to fulfill a prophecy that promised great power for the realm - until it was decided by odin that she was more of a threat than a pliable weapon. cast into exile of nothingness and shadow, amora plotted her revenge until odin's death released her back to asgard just as surtur was ensuring its destruction. slipping unseen onto the refuge vessel before asgard's demise, amora witnessed the death of loki and supposed death of thor at the hands of thanos. vowing to track down the mad god, amora travelled through the universe to dismantle his hold on other planets as he was defeated on earth. she is now found on new asgard as a pariah until a new calling in the form of an old friend reveals a dark threat : kang. ( this verse will have independent interpretations of the loki series )

this serves as the primary verse for all marvel comic / earth-616 interactions and will follow closely the intent that amora, the goddess of asgard and it's most powerful sorceress, travels the nine realms in her never ending quest for power, knowledge, supremacy and indulgence. note : in the comic verse asgard is still in tact and thriving.
