Jinx let out a sigh as she wandered through Jump City, everyone seemed to be with that special someone nowadays. It was tiring seeing all those glowing hearts and hearing the laughs between two people. It was getting to point where Jinx wondered if her so called soulmate was really out there, or hell—if she was even in the right place. As she heaved yet another sigh, a beeping noise rang through her ears, reaching to her hip she unclipped the Titan communicator.
"Yeah, Boy Wonder?" she questioned as she stopped walking.
"Jinx there’s been some activity by the HIVE Academy, I need you to meet up with Kid Flash and investigate." Robin spoke over the screen, a scowl graced her face as she rubbed her forehead.
"Why do I have to go?"
"You know the building better than anyone." her spoke in a definite tone, "Robin out."
He ended the transmission before she could complain, with a sigh of defeat Jinx made her way to her old academy.
Upon arrival she determined that she had been the first to arrive, not spotting anything or one to prove her otherwise. It had been a while since she last saw Kid Flash, a few years maybe, not like it mattered to her, or was that something she was trying to prove to herself? Try as she might she couldn’t remember anything about the boy.
After a while of waiting Jinx got fed up, and decide to press on inside alone. Carefully she walked through the academy, it was in nothing but shambles. Memories of her old times there flooded in, the good times and bad. Hearing the sound of clacking of keys she stopped before heading to where the sound came from.
Coming to a room, with barely anything around it Jinx pressed her back against the wall peering into the room to see who as there. She instantly spotted a small robot typing away at the keyboard.
Gizmo
The thought of the small boy made a frown appear on Jinx’s lips, her should have been doing something else with his intellect. Raising a hand up a pink magic began to form, as she was going to let loose a hex the communicator went off; thus causing a startled Jinx to fire off prematurely and miss alerting the robot. With a loud groan she quickly grabbed the communicator answering it as she proceeded to fire away at the robot that had begun scurrying away.
"What!?" She demanded as she continued to try and hit the machine.
"Jinxy." The red haired male spoke.
"Get your ass in here, this stupid thing is too fast." she hissed.
"Your wish is my command."
Jinx quickly shut the communicator, a small yell escaping her lips as she was hit in the arm by a laser. Guess he didn’t recognize her as friendly anymore. Trying yet again to hit it Jinx nearly fell over as it rushed past her and down the hall. Grabbing her arm she heard footsteps running down the hall, without looking up she pointed down the hall where she saw it run expecting him to run after it. Was she wrong. She screamed as she was lifted, suddenly being carried around the old academy at high speeds, her eyes wrenched closed. It was in that instant that she felt something odd building up in her chest.
"Hit it." Was all she heard before she pried open an eye, spotting the robot not that much further from them. Raising a hand up she shot wave of magic at it, promptly destroying it. Once it was hit Kid slowed his speed to a halt, setting Jinx down on her feet.
"Nice shooting, Tex." he said as he clasped his hand onto her shoulder, if only for a second before she promptly swatted it away. Lifting her head up to look at him she stopped, the feeling in her chest growing; it felt so warm, and as if were warming her entire being.
"Huh, wouldja look at that." she heard him speak, snapping her out of her daze, only for her to notice the glow from his chest. She instantly looked down at hers, it was beating a red glow.
"After all these years, you’re still the only one for me Lucky." Kid Flash said as he cupped her face lightly, leading her face close to his own. His lips lightly grazing hers, already giving her pounding heart something else to pound about.
"I don’t think I mind this at all." she mumbled as she grasped his hand and leaned in what little was left, placing her lips on his own.
