Headcanon: Kettles

Q refuses to share his kettle for tea with James’s coffee. In fact, when James inadvertently uses Q’s kettle to make this god awful instant stuff that’s been in the back of Q’s cupboard for years, Q buys a new kettle and wont’ speak to Bond for three days.

Bond is also not allowed to use the “tea mugs” for his coffee. Q throws away that fateful mug with the horrible coffee. They each now have a cupboard for their mugs and their preferred drinks.

What would a double-oh need to do in order to, say, get a new kit for a mission?

we’re going to assume you mean new, fresh-off-the-blueprints prototypes and not the standard gun-and-radio package. 

we can sit here and pretend that we only give new, cool stuff to an agent when the mission deems it necessary, in a completely non-biased way. but that would be lying. the best way to get brownie points with Q is to bring your kit back in great condition, consistently. builds trust, you know?

unless you’re a certain ruggedly handsome double-oh whose name rhymes with Shmond. then all you have to do is loiter in Q Branch constantly, be devilishly charming, and occasionally bring Q presents from abroad.

ALL RIGHT AGENTS!

Okay. According to our very own secret agent, teamQbranch is already mobilizing and preparing for next month. They’re organized, I know it.

SO. Here is what we have to do.

We need a gameplan. We need to know who is working on what, how many people plan to do which things, and when/how we will keep a running tally of our points so we know how we are doing.

We have immense talent in our team, so many writers and creators. A few people had the idea for a Round Robin story (@timetospy brought it to my attention), and I would LOVE to do this. I also thought we could collect a few 31-day prompt sets, come up with a common place to post headcanons (like a special HEADCANON post that we can then add to), and plan what events we can attend in order to EARN EVEN MORE POINTS.

We have to do this as a team. We are stronger working together and planning together even if we are writing on our own. I know we can do this.

It has been a true honor being one of your team captains this month. We have done an absolutely bloody brilliant job, the lot of us, and I couldn’t be prouder.

You should all take a moment this week amongst the masterpost frenzy to pat yourselves on the back. I’m so sad that this month is over and that my first 007 fest is done. Next year feels like a lifetime away, but I already can’t wait to do this again.
