also @amurasakibara and I made a iwaoi trek au and promptly played ourselves because the power of iwaoi + trek is too much (and lmao @ blatantly tracing movie stills to satisfy my need for quick art)
Hey there! Sorry this is so out of the blue, but I saw that you got both of the got7 never ever albums and I was wondering if you could answer a question for me about the different versions? Are the 3 photobooks the same in both versions or do they have different photos? I'm debating if I want to order both or not :) thanks!
Hi! Yes, each photo book has different pictures in them. They have pictures in the same order according to photoshoot/location (if that makes sense?) but the pictures are different. I personally love the green version the most! I can’t remember exactly which version that is as it doesn’t say on the album but I believe it’s the Ever version. I hope this helped!
Notes: I hope you enjoy this! I had a lot of fun writing them and I hope it’s fluffy enough. Have a good Christmas!!!
Summary: "Miyuki knew there were really only two outcomes of Mei’s silence, either Mei was planning something or Mei was fucking planning something.“
——-
Miyuki wasn’t sure when Mei had started incorporating himself into his life like this, small fragments of his personality littered around his apartment even when Mei was miles away for school, but he undoubtedly had.
Miyuki’s eyes raked over the small magnet on his fridge shaped like a baby chicken that Mei had bought for him one day he’d been in town. Miyuki opened the fridge, grabbing a protein shake and an apple from inside before he knocked the door shut with his hip. He walked to the pantry and yanked it open, the wrapper of one of those disgustingly sweet candies that Mei enjoyed so much lay crumpled on the floor. Miyuki stepped forward, the wrapper crunching beneath his bare feet as he grabbed a granola bar from its spot on the shelf. Miyuki closed the pantry, humming to himself as he ripped open the wrapper to his breakfast and leaned against the counter. He could see the oversized tea mugs he’d bought Mei for Christmas that were still unwrapped on his island. His eyes caught on the hideous red blanket on the back of his sofa, another of Mei’s possessions that now had a permanent fixture in his apartment. He thought about the dirty laundry hamper in his room that now held one of Mei’s old Inashiro t shirts.
Miyuki pulled his phone out of his pocket, noting that is was still pretty early by Mei standards, and sent him a message anyway.
Kazuya [07:12]: When is your train getting in?
Mei [07:12] : late
Kazuya [07:13]: How late?
Mei [07:13]: why?
Kazuya [07:13]: Just tell me when your train gets in
Mei [07:13]: Do you realize what time it is?
Kazuya [07:14]: you have an 8am class. I know you aren’t sleeping.
Mei [07:14]: I bet you just can’t wait to see me so you had to text me
Miyuki sighed and rubbed his hand over his eyes. His boyfriend was honestly the most difficult brat in the entire world. He’d been like this since they were fourteen and even being fully aware of this fact, here Miyuki was, in a relationship with him that somehow worked perfectly. They fit. Mei infuriated him, he infuriated Mei. But Mei also made him happy. Mei made him grin from ear to ear when his immature side came out. Made him double over in laughter with his outlandish accusations of people. Made him feel like he was understood, like someone cared about him, like someone could keep up with him.
Miyuki shoved the remainder of his granola bar in his mouth and sent a middle finger emoji to Mei. Not the most mature route but still a good choice.
Miyuki slid his phone into the pocket of his sweatpants and walked to the bathroom to finish getting ready.
He grabbed his hat from the door handle in the hallway and turned into the small bathroom on the first floor. He shook his head back and ran a hand through his hair before yanking on the cap and twisting it slightly to the side. He looked in the mirror of his bathroom to make sure there wasn’t shit on his face or shirt and spotted Mei’s stupid bright purple toothbrush by the sink.
Mei wasn’t there, but it felt like his apartment was waiting for his return.
His pocket vibrated.
Narumiya Mei [07:22]: ❤
——
It was already nearing three in the afternoon and Miyuki still hadn’t been able to wrangle an answer about what time Mei’s train was supposed to arrive. He sent one last text to the group Seido message, mocking Sawamura in the picture that Kanemura had attached, and checked the thread with Mei- still nothing since the winky face emoji he’d sent at 12:06. Miyuki sighed, clicked the sleep button on his phone and stuffed the thing in his pocket so he wouldn’t look at it again. He was annoyed. He didn’t like not being in control of situations and Mei always knew how to test his patience in that area.
He knew there were really only two outcomes of Mei’s silence, either Mei was planning something or Mei was fucking planning something. Subtlety wasn’t Narumiya Mei’s strong suit and he’d never been good at hiding things. Especially not with Miyuki. Miyuki knew him too well. They were too similar for their own good really, both too argumentative and competitive. But at least they both aware of it, he guessed. It helped to at least know that the person you were dating was just as big of an asshole as you were.
Miyuki knew Mei was planning something. But what he wasn’t expecting was to walk into his apartment and find the object of his annoyance sitting on his fucking couch, wrapped in that hideous red fuzzy blanket of his, and using one of the mugs Miyuki hadn’t wrapped yet. His eyes were bright with anticipation, his lips pulled into that familiar smirk that made people seethe in anger, and his feet were bare as they sat atop Miyuki’s coffee table, he looked like he owned the place, like he was supposed to be here.
“Merry Christmas, Kazu-”
“Get out of my house,” Miyuki interrupted, closing the door behind him and shaking his head, forcing his mouth to relax out of the smile that had crept across his lips as he took in Mei in his living room. He hadn’t expected this and he wasn’t sure how to handle the situation in the best way, but he did know that he wanted to strangle Mei and also, no definitely, kiss him and he wasn’t really sure which emotion was ruling out at the moment.
He turned around and stared Mei down, pulling off his winter coat and throwing it on the hook by the door as he did so. Mei’s grin was outrageously smug and irritating as he leaned forward to set his mug down on the table, his blonde hair flopping into his face as he moved.
“That mug was going to be your Christmas gift so I guess you aren’t getting one of those now.”
“Unfair!” Mei snapped, pointing his finger at Miyuki “you knew I was coming you shouldn’t have waited so long to wrap it.”
“I asked you when you’d be here,” Miyuki said by way of an explanation.
“All I hear is an excuse, Kazuya,” Mei said, standing up from where he was sitting, the blanket falling from his shoulders on to the couch. He looked good. Miyuki couldn’t even pretend not to notice the way his body wanted to move closer to him. His fingers twitched at his side and he grabbed a hand full of his sweat pants to stop them. He hadn’t seen Mei in person in almost a month and it was disgusting to realize how much of a relief it was too see him in this space again. Their space. God, he was losing it.
Mei stomped over to Miyuki, puffed up and ready for an argument as he stood in front of him.
“I try to surprise you and this is how you act?” Mei yelled, he always yelled, Miyuki had missed it.
“Mei,” Miyuki said, watching as his cheeks reddened. Miyuki felt a pang of fondness slice through his chest.
“You’re so mean, Kazuya,” Mei said, running a hand through his blonde hair in frustration. “It’s a wonder you have any friends at all let alone a boyfriend.”
“Narumiya,” Miyuki said this time, staring at his face, watching the crease in his forehead deepen as his eyebrows knit together. He wanted to rub his thumb over the lines there, maybe follow his thumb with his lips.
“Don’t Narumiya me, you’re being a dick,” Mei said as his lips turned down in a pout, always so animated with his expressions.”I’ve been traveling on that packed train all day and you aren’t even glad I’m here.”
Miyuki took a step forward, letting his hands reach to grab at Mei’s hips. He pulled Mei forward, flush against his body, and pressed his mouth to his ear.
“I’m glad you’re here. I just wish you would have told me when you were going to be here.”
“Why would it even matter, I have a key to this place,” Mei said, pushing back from Miyuki to look at his face, he was still angry, “did you forget about giving me that?”
“No.”
“Do you want it back?”
“Stop it, Narumiya,” Miyuki said with such harshness that he felt Mei jerk in his arms. “Don’t even joke about that.”
“I’ll joke about whatev-” Miyuki leaned forward, cutting Mei’s words off with his lips. Mei pushed him away from him and backwards against the door.
“You don’t get to fix this with your stupid mouth,” Mei said loudly, always so loud, and walked closer to Miyuki again, smiling. “Say you’re sorry.”
“I’m sorry.”
“You don’t mean that.”
“I’m sorry, Narumiya,” Miyuki attempted again, leaning forward and pressing his forehead to Mei’s. “I missed you,” he said, softer this time, his words laced with an unspoken I love you.
Mei’s tight smile eased, full lips and clear eyes replacing sharp angles and teeth. “I missed you too, Kazuya.” Miyuki could hear the unspoken declaration, just as he was sure Mei had heard his as well.
Miyuki moved, pressing his lips to Mei’s again, much more satisfying now that Mei wasn’t as worked up and was kissing him back with those lips that he thought about far too much. Their kiss was sweet, softer than what he was used to for Mei, almost like Mei was apologizing for the surprise he’d given him.
Miyuki pulled back from the kiss, opening his eyes to watch as Mei followed his mouth, chasing after his kiss as they parted.
Miyuki felt his stomach twist again and rubbed his hand up Mei’s strong back and into his hair. He felt Mei’s cold fingers slide under his shirt, seeking out the warmth of skin beneath. Miyuki pressed their lips together and felt Mei sigh into his mouth.
Okay he definitely wasn’t angry about the surprise anymore. He could live with surprises like this one. They kissed slowly, taking in each other’s presences again after being apart for so long. Miyuki missed him. He missed everything about him, his bratty attitude, his temper, his smirk. All of it. Every horrible quality.
Mei was the one to pull back this time, sliding his hands away from Miyuki’s skin as he went, and turned around to walk towards the stairs. He looked over his shoulder at Miyuki with a smile, “C’mon, Kazuya. All my stuff’s in our bedroom and I’ve got other presents to give you.”
“Were you not enough?” Miyuki said with a smile, following him and taking long strides to catch up so he could pull Mei’s hand into his own as he trailed behind him up the stairs.
