This quote is from Francis's book, "Crazy Love". I haven't read it before, yet I found this quote in a sermon I was reading. It stood out to me because I was in a "questioning mood". Where I preceded to question God on His purpose for my life. Don't be deceived questioning God is distrusting Him. I wasn't trusting God with my life. I've sung worship music that sings, "...use my ransomed life in any way You choose" (🎼 All I have is Christ by Sovereign Grace Music). But, I guess what I meant is, 'use it how I see fit and explain every path I walk on.'Here I was questioning His goodness, like His first disciples did on a boat (Mark 4:38)- they asked Him, "Teacher, do you not CARE that we are perishing?" After He stills the storm and winds He has a couple of questions of His own, "Why are you afraid? How is it that you have no faith?" || I will worship and serve a God who has been nothing but good, kind, sweet and patient with me. And I will trust Him when I stir up my own storms. Will you join me? ❤️ #amwog
best believe im headbanging to this
Everyone who God redeems, God gives them a song of praise and makes him or her a living testimony. So here is my song: I've been a "good girl" all my life, according to the standards of man. But, that "good girl" was good at hiding everything that wasn't good. Her pent-up rage, bisexuality, pornography. Despite how many loved ones spoke of my kindness or goodness, I deserved God's full wrath. But, now I can sing, "He has redeemed me and He can redeem you too". #dearSaints What's your song? And are you joyfully singing it those who are around you. I post this not because I have been as bold and free with the Gospel as I should be. But to encourage us that there is nothing wrong with the song God has given you. Rather your testimony could be a made-for-TV movie or rather from the outside looking in there was no "drastic" change. Sing loudly for the Lord, saints! You may not have carried and gave birth to the Messiah, but God has done great things for you as well (Luke 1:49). Your family, friends, and neighbors need to hear your song or the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Don't feel as if you need to share ever hairy detail, the man Elihu was speaking about said nothing but, " I sinned and perverted what was right". Let's sing to the nations! #amwog ❤
I thought I would share this prayer this week considering that this week is passion week. Some odd 2,000 years ago a very significant thing happened God died for me (us). The cross He was nailed to had my (your) name on it. This prayer illustrates perfectly how Jesus took the worse experience so that I could have the better one. And all He expects is for us to live according to His rules, follow His example, to be thankful and to "remember Him". He reigns forever and by His finished works I will reign with Him. I am thankful for the b lood that still works and covers me each and everyday. #amwog
The hardest thing to do is to be resolved to praise God when you don't understand why you are going through certain things in your life. We know the biblical truths about the testing of our faith, the suffering that brings perfection. Yet, we still are dismayed by our circumstances. We still search our minds for how we've offended God to be in this position. The word on our tongues aren't of thanksgiving, but full of questions.|| I have a new favorite song that includes a line that goes, 🎵"I know You're good, but this don't feel good right now"- from Thy Will by Hillary Scott. It's such a battle to praise God when life is hard. But it's a battle worth fighting. God doesn't promise us joy during favorable circumstances, but especially now in your darkest night you can have joy. Lift your heart up to God, trust Him with His plan for the hard and painful things in your life. Remember that as you have entered this trial you will by His grace exit. Choose joy in the midst of your trial not just waiting to leave it. You can praise God now before His deliverance (David did). #dearSaints I know it sure doesn't feel good, but God is still good. God is still the lover of your soul. God is still a mighty healer and Savior. Praise Him and see if your mind isn't changed about your trial. #PrayForTheSaints because you are not the only child of God feeling downcast nor or you the only one whose body is in pain. Changing our focus off of self an on to God in worship or praying for others (as well as ourselves) is a way to unlock joy and hope in the hardest day. ❤#amwog
REPOST- I posted this earlier this year, ran across it and was really encouraged by it, maybe you would be too. *Earlier after repenting for an habitual sin in my heart. Food idolatry. I couldn't seem to go forward, I just moped and could barely muster up praise. Then I called upon the Lord...and His consolations cheered my heart. Eventually I wound up reading about what Jesus Christ suffered in my stead. As I read about how they striked His blessed face, spit on Him, beat Him with a whip that is designed to pound the body and tear away flesh with each lash... I could no longer feel sorry for myself or be overwhelmed by my sin. #dearSaints take fresh courage, God chose you, He knew about all the things that would misplace your love for Him. Mourn for your sin, but don't feel as if there is no hope. Be prayerful and watchful of your sins. Be protective over the heart He made and bled for. In the weakest moments we are STILL more than conquerors THROUGH Him who loved us. Take heart. ❤️ #amwog
#DearSaints : When rumbling dissatisfaction and discontentment rises in your heart, cling to God’s truth. We are in charge of how we think and we can command our minds to believe God’s truth. TRUTH: That one opportunity, relationship, etc, will not make you any happier, because discontentment isn’t circumstantial but it’s about our hearts. TRUTH: Your currently unfulfilled hearts’ desire is not unknown to God. But, no good thing does God withhold from those who walk uprightly(psalm 84:11). What your heart desires may be a good thing, even a glorious thing, but it is not a needed thing! Because if it were so, God would graciously give it you. Saints, we have an enemy of our souls, and we live in a world that holds on to “the just one more thing to happiness” policy. Cling to God’s truth when the dark clouds appear. Saints, if you can’t rejoice with those who are rejoicing on your news feed(Rom 12:15), it’s likely time to close the app and even repent for the jealousy in your heart. We all belong to the same kingdom and we are all on the same team. Every win for another saint, is a household win. Let our love prove that we belong to Christ(John 13:35). Be encouraged. ❤️ #amwog
