I just got a really interesting email: Our local ballet company, Carolina Ballet, has announced its 2026-27 season. (I should point out that Carolina Ballet is a really good regional ensemble, so much so that the NY Times once named it one of the top 10 performing arts ensembles in America outside the NYC metro area.) In April 2027, it's doing a program the includes a new version of The Rite of Spring by Amy Hall Garner, Apollo by Balanchine, a new piece inspired by the myth of Echo and Narcissus, and a new work called Ophelia by Gianna Reisen. So, this'll be a must-see performance for my partner and me.
