A meatball recipe that is full of flavor and umami that Amy and Jacky have tried and approved. These meatballs made in an Instant Pot are great for a quick and easy dinner during the week.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 1/4 cup chopped parsley. 1/4 cup finely chopped onions. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 large egg. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 cup beef broth. 1 cup tomato sauce. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. 1 teaspoon sugar. 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano. 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme. 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary. 1/2 teaspoon dried sage. 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram. 1/2 teaspoon dried basil.
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onions, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. In the Instant Pot, combine beef broth, tomato sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, oregano, thyme, rosemary, sage, marjoram, and basil. Gently place the meatballs into the sauce in the Instant Pot. Close the lid, set the Instant Pot to manual high pressure for 8 minutes. Once cooking is complete, allow for a natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then perform a quick pressure release. Open the lid and serve the umami meatballs over rice or pasta. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired.
