A Man Called Ove is a little different from the last two novels I've read but a surprisingly good read so far. I have a feeling I'm going to be emotionally compromised by the ending though. A brand new review is up right now on my blog http://amywritesxo.com/review-blood-blood-ryan-graudin/!
I loved Blood for Blood so much and highly recommend it! Here’s a little excerpt from the review. For more head to amywritesxo.com or my Goodreads! :)
REVIEW: Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin. 5 out of 5 stars.
To start off, Wolf by Wolf was an absolutely amazing story and I loved it so much, but honestly, Blood for Blood raised this ufology to a whole other level. These books have cemented Ryan Graudin as a legend in my eyes.
Blood for Blood follows on directly from the events of Wolf by Wolf. I was so excited to get back into this book as I was desperate to see how Yael’s story would turn out and boy did it go great.

We would have known nothing of the nature and reach of her sorrow if she had come back. But she left us and broke the family and the sorrow was released and we saw its wings and saw it fly a thousand ways into the hills, and sometimes I think sorrow is a predatory thing because birds scream at dawn with a marvelous terror, and there is, as I have said before, a deathly bitterness in the smell of ponds and ditches.
There is so little to remember of anyone—an anecdote, a conversation at table. But every memory is turned over and over again, every word, however chance, written in the heart in the hope that memory will fulfill itself, and become flesh, and that the wanderers will find a way home, and the perished, whose lack we always feel, will step through the door finally and stroke our hair with dreaming, habitual fondness, not having meant to keep us waiting long.”
REVIEW: A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. 5 out of 5 stars.

First thing that needs to be mentioned is that I really disliked the first book in this series. A Court of Thorns and Roses was a seriously disappointing read for me, so much so that I gave it a 2 star review… I was not interested in continuing to read the series until I saw some kick ass fan art and read some review that made me hyped for it! I'm so glad I listened to the reviews and feel in love with the fan art because I LOVED THIS BOOK! I've even given it 5 stars! I can't believe it but I'm actually very excited for the rest of the series!
ACOMAF follows on from the events of ACOTAR and sees our lead lady, Feyre, in a pretty bad place, both mentally and physically. From here we are taken on an extreme journey of betrayal, strength and love that developed the characters and gave me so much more appreciation for this story.
Unlike the first book, the plot of this book was way more exciting and a lot of the characters I preferred were more essential to the story. I think I really enjoyed seeing how the events of the last book had effected other characters because it allowed me to connect with them more. The plot of this book also moved at a better pace and felt less clunky to read.
In my review for the first book I mention feeling like Feyre was pretty useless. I liked her so much more in this story! She was so much more exciting and brave and strong which I was so happy about because that was the kind of character I had wanted and expected in this series! I ended up really liking her so much and I also really love the relationship she has with Rhysand and the other Night Court babes.
I think for me, Rhysand and the other Night Court boys, were the saving grace of this series! Rhys brings so much complexity and heart to the story and he was probably the strongest character. I remember that he was my fav in ACOTAR and I was so happy to have him play a much larger role in this story. I think in future books we will really uncover so much about him because he is such a well-developed character (who shits all over Tamlin! Sorry!)
The other characters, Mor, Cassian, Azriel and Amren are also super interesting and they are characters who I want to get to know! I really like how they were quite important to the story even though they are side characters and I'm really hoping that as the series progresses we will get to know them all better!
Tamlin still does not interest me AT ALL. I was so glad that Feyre saw through her original love for him because he was so so annoying. I'm not interested in him but I am super interested in how they're relationship will change.
So I am giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. I actually cannot believe how much I've changed my tune about this series but this book has converted me into a fan!! I'm so excited for the rest of the books, I think it's going to be an eight or nine book series which is will be interesting!! If you were like me and didn't like A Court of Thorns and Roses don't let that stop you from picking up this story. It's a hell of a lot more enjoyable.
REVIEW: Waterfall by Lauren Kate. 2 out of 5 stars.

Alright so I really loved the Fallen series by Lauren Kate… this series? Not so much.
I really had to push myself through it which totally sucks because I wanted it to be good! The first book was mostly a good read, it built up the story of the city of Atlantis and gave the reader a lot of background to the characters including Eureka.
Eureka is an OK character. She's definitely nothing memorable but for the most part she's likeable.. She carries the story without making it boring or plain.
I was very invested in Brooks character and wanted to see what would happen to him after he was possessed by Atlas but sadly I wasn't satisfied at all with what happened to him.
The awkward love triangle was so dumb because over the course of two books it was barely developed and just really sucked. I felt like Ander was just a random plot device that in the end served not much of a purpose which is annoying because there was a lot of potential.
I think I feel the worst for Claire and William who are first orphaned and then abandoned which is awful! I seriously don't see what the point of these two characters was because they didn't end up anywhere different it's so dumb. I also was so disappointed in Ander's role as mentioned earlier. I feel like there were a lot of useless characters in this story which is pretty crappy.
Plot wise I'm not really impressed with where the story went. I feel like it ended very abruptly and plainly and I felt so unconvinced by the whole story. I really liked the infusion of lore about Atlanta and I think the story should have remained rooted in this battle instead of fluffing about with the dumb love story.
I'm giving this story a 2 star rating. I'd recommend it for those who want a quick read and nothing that reacquires a lot of thought or worry. It's only a two book series so it will be a pretty quick read!
