unpopular opinion lmaoo but... i genuinely don't care if jake and amy don't kiss in the final season, i just really really don't want to see people complaining over it. i'm glad they took covid protocols really safely so they could give us this season at all! and also like they say in suicide squad they "kiss all the time just not in front of [charles]" which we all know was a message to the fans. imagine it, paint fanart, write fic, but like... let's not get super hung up on it please?? that is my one wish haha

18 and 30!

18. What was the first movie or show that made you cry?

it was the prince of egypt. i was 6 and i remember watching it at school and hiding my tears, bc i was afraid other kids would make fun of me for crying (eventually nobody did) and i remember being so moved by this movie bc the songs were amazing and i kinda had soft spot for moses. i grew up having all sorts of catholic books for kids around the house so i was familiar with his story and i was fascinated by it as a kid.

30. What’s a movie or show you love but often forget about?

movie: little miss sunshine. i need to rewatch it bc it’s one of the greats. damn, this cast!!

tv show: crashing. it’s phoebe waller-bridge’s first tv child and i loved it but i feel like in my mind it got upstaged by fleabag and i tend to forget about it.

5: What part was hardest to write?

Initially, during the whole ‘my body is changing’ mini-meltdown Amy has, I had her calling herself fat/unattractive etc, etc, and I genuinely hated it and wrote and rewrote it over and over until I ended up with what I did. I’m really not a fan of using appearance as a reason somebody might not be appealing, and I had to reset several other parts I’d written to set the tone that it was more about how Amy was feeling with the lack of control, and not that her body was expanding/changing.

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story?

Well the whole fic was based on a @kamekamelea‘s prompt to write a fic around ‘Sweater Weather’ by The Neighbourhood, which was a song I’d genuinely never heard before, so in a nutshell that was the song that I listened to a LOT. But, for this version particularly, I used more of the cover that Kina Grannis made, purely because it felt more fitting for the tone I was setting. (and also because I’m a sucker for the acoustic versions of most songs)

15: What did you learn from writing this fic?

I learnt a lot about s*x during the different trimesters, and how - like most things - it can be completely different for every woman because that's just how our bodies work. Reading testimonials from other women on what had worked for them was greatly entertaining, and good food for thought should it ever happen to me!
