Even the strongest of Angels are naught before the whims of the Gods...

my favorite thing about working at h&m was how so many of my coworkers were artists, and now i can keep up with them and their work on ig
If gwyns circumstances growing up were different would he still have joined the military? Like if he had nice parents that let’s say for arguments sake didn’t have their own professions to sway him towards and had a “do what you want” attitude, what profession do you think gwyn would have ended up in? The military still?
I mean, you can see in other AUs that I’ve written that if the circumstances were different, he doesn’t end up in the military in more than one story set in the actual fae realm:
The Lone Wolf
The Wildness Within
So my answer to that is ‘I’ve written some of those circumstances and he doesn’t end up in the military!’ :D
That being said, it just depends! Gwyn ap Nudd is a folkloric war hero and military leader with no abuse in his background in terms of the folklore that canonically exists about him. So it’s entirely possible that even in a ‘best outcome’ scenario, he would end up in the military still. Or that in other scenarios, different outcomes happen.
As for me personally, I’ve written a Gwyn that ends up as a Mage instead of a military person. I’ve written a Gwyn that ends up actually doing nothing except helping Augus and Ash, instead of being a military person. And in both of those he still didn’t have nice parents, his circumstances were just different. Tbh if he had nice parents who accepted him, and he still had his light? He’d probably be a supervillain who destroyed the fae realm. *pets Gwyn gently*
