even with malivore unleashing threats like some monster-of-the-week subscription service, as far as the student body was concerned, the real big bads were the mystic falls timberwolves --- and, by proxy, the quarterback who failed to lead the stallions to victory. that’s right, his short-lived brush with popularity ended just as quickly as his athletic career, one wrong move and he was persona non grata. in a strange way, he found it liberating. with no one looking to him for heroics, he’s free to once again wrap himself in solitude’s security blanket. rest assured, there’s no one more qualified to lament than annie cresta. she doesn’t deserve the grief their classmates give her --- in landon’s experience, few do. ❛ thanks for the save. ❜ dropping into the vacant seat, he reveals a grateful half-smile and pulls a singular headphone from his ear. ❛ everyone’s looking at me like i kicked their dog. ❜

i deleted my divergence post like 10 minutes after posting it but just know landon would have never let his thing with josie go this far as soon as he ‘met’ hope and started having all these inexplicable feelings he called it off bc even if he didn’t know the whole story it wasn’t fair to continue pursuing something when he felt so strongly for someone else
