in celebration of umbrella academy season 2 coming out <3
important announcement (long post)
hey everyone! i know i’ve been sort of off and on MIA as of recent, and i do deeply apologize for anyone who’s sort of expected me to be somewhat alive and coherent, but i’ve got some stuff i wanna get off my chest and then finalize.
to start off, i’m going to be blunt--i’m leaving the carry on fandom.
let me start off my explanation with this isn’t anyone’s fault. i’m not blaming anyone, i’m not upset and leaving, nothing like that. this has actually been something i’ve been reflecting on for some time now, and recent difficult events in my personal life (which has caused me taking these breaks) has lead me to the conclusion that i’d personally do best not being in the fandom-fandom.
i’ve been here for a hot second. not a while while, but i’ve been here since i was 17, and as of the time that i’m making this post, i turn 20 in just over two and a half weeks. i’m in a very different place mentally and emotionally than i was when i started this as my carry on specific blog, and my interaction with the fandom space has been very different than it was when i had started. my interests have shifted, and especially after wayward son, my emotional connection to the characters have changed from generalized outward to complete inward interactions. basically, i struggle to create media (fanfic, more-so) due to my inability to communicate how i feel about them. i still love the characters like mad, but the fandom space since wayward son has been stressing me out very specifically because i can’t communicate, and i’ve been giving myself distance (unless in personal conversations with friends within the fandom) because it’s so personal.
i do also have a bit to say on the recent controversy, but there’s a lot to say there, and it boils down to the fact that i heavily support both minors and adults of all ages being able to be in a fandom, but the overlap is difficult and sensitive and i have stronger opinions that i’m uncomfortable staring beyond that. i don’t wish to further publicly comment due to my own trauma based around this very subject, but that’s my statement. if anyone wishes to have further discussions, i’m very open privately, but i do not feel comfortable airing that out in a public sense for many reasons.
again, i have no ill-will towards anybody here, and i love you all very deeply. this has just been my own personal journey, and this leg of attachment is one that i’m shifting away from currently for my own good. i hope to still possibly post fan art, and i think i’m going to keep my carry on instagram, but this blog is going to be changing after i finish my leg of the COBB.
i’m not deleting this account, though, and i mainly made this post so that people who follow me can have the chance to unfollow anytime before i make the switch. i know i don’t exactly have a small amount of followers, so i felt it was important to make a very transparent and open post to let everyone know what’s going on and to give you time to unfollow before i change over.
this will become my aesthetic-based main blog, as well as some personal art. it’ll most likely be darker/more gothic stuff, since that’s what i’m into. i’m also relatively active in the MCR fandom, currently, and have an MCR blog that you can follow ( @xxdeathspellsxx ).
to anyone who’s a friend or mutual here, i’m definitely not just cutting y’all off, and i still love all of you. i just want you all to know this, and be aware that this isn’t just me suddenly changing my blog.
i love you all. thank you so much for reading (if you did), and i hope everyone’s doing okay right now. xox ezra/anï
"this is the silliest stuff that ever i heard"
frank makes music for people who had a period of unrequited love and still talk to that person and can't help but impulsively latch to every word they say even tho it's been years and reasonably you shouldn't be this attached but like you can't help b-
literally OBSESSED with the concept that mcr made a hit single about fighting a corrupt enterprise and corrupt society. literally got millions of kids to grow up screaming along to this rebellion, and they did it so slyly they KNEW what they were doing when making danger days sound campy and borderlining within pop it was to raise a generation of kids into this world to know to hate it, and it reached so many of us. it WORKED. it was peppy enough that parents let it blend into the woodwork of our music, and society didn't silence them, but goddamn were they silencing society
oh? you're a gerard kinnie? when's the last time you washed your hair
i am at my limit
