Yoshihide Hirayama founder and CEO of brand Modern Antenna, is the special guest of KIMONO BIJIN & Anime North.
Born in 1971, as the eldest son of Hirayama Dyeing, one of the leading dye factories in Kyoto. His childhood play toys were dye materials used for dyeing. He used to mix a lot of dye piled up in the factory, and he spent time drawing pictures. He grew up surrounded by colours at his side, it was natural progression to pursue the path of arts.
He was employed as a designer from 25 to 35 years of age and engaged in various designing businesses such as graphics, WEB, DTP, movies, space and products as a designer.
He began to design kimono at the age of 35 and established a modern antenna at the age of 36, today he continues to run the company.
Anime North 2018 will be Yoshihide Hirayama’s first Canadian appearance.
Modern Antenna will be the special guest of KIMONO BIJIN, and sharing a sales booth and collaborate presentation and fantastic Kimono fashion show with KIMONO BIJIN.

1971年、京都でも有数の引染工場【平山引染】の長男として、生まれる。 幼少期の遊び道具は、引染に使う染料であった。 工場内に積み上げられている沢山の染料を調合しては、絵を描いたりして過ごした。色は当たり前のようにいつも側にあり、芸術の道に進むことにも何ら違和感はなかった。
25歳～35歳までは雇われデザイナーとしてグラフィック、WEB、DTP、ムービー、空間、プロダクツなどの様々なデザイン業に従事。 35歳から着物のデザインを手がけるようになり、36歳でモダンアンテナ設立、今に至る。
平山佳秀氏は今回カナダ初進出です。 モダンアンテナは、KIMONO BIJINのスペシャルゲストとして登場します。プレゼンテーション・ファッションショー等全てのコンテンツおよび販売ブースをKIMONO BIJINと共有します。

KIMONO BIJIN is a popular social media site for Kimono and other traditional Japanese culture - and the English version has just launched this year! We have also held and participated in cultural events in Toronto, Montreal, NYC, Taiwan, and of course Japan!
The more you learn about Kimono, the more you will love it. Come immerse yourself in Kimono culture at our presentation and fantastic Kimono fashion show! Our presentations will be on (25th/26th/27th) and the fashion show will be on 25th!
I will introduce a variety of Kawaii Kimono, mens kimono fashion styles, traditional Japanese hairdo kits -- which make hair arrangements easier, easy-to-wear kimono, obi instruction, and demonstration with the special guest of KIMONO BIJIN: the CEO of “Modern Antenna”. I will provide a lot of information in an easy-to-understand format.
KIMONO BIJIN will have a sales booth in the dealers room. I will bring cute and affordable kimono and handmade accessories, etc! I'm really looking forward to seeing and talking to you all there!
