My dude, Travelling Hearts needs to cALM DOWN. Putting aside the dream sequences (Molly, the fuck?) & that bit about Molly being scared of bringing someone back from the dead fOR OBVIOUS REASONS - asdfghjk. Even so, it's the little things in this fic that are making it feel so real (which, in turn, makes it hURT), like Beau explaining the Knowing Mistress, or having random drugs. Tbh Beau was my favorite part of this, which is odd since like Jester I didn't read it for her character at ALL. <3
“Molly, the FUCK” was my literal, out-loud reaction when I realized where that dream sequence was going, yep. My beta can confirm. Fortunately, Nott kind of suspected night terrors might be a thing, which was part of why she’d been sleeping so close to him.
I’ve really been enjoying playing the enormity of the very existence of Raise Dead totally straight. Nobody knows what to expect - everybody knows what to hope for, but Molly has a little more experience than the rest of them, and therefore knows just enough to be afraid. He doesn’t want to be a hypocrite but he also doesn’t want to put anyone else through what he went through.
I am glad you enjoyed Beau’s part in the last couple of chapters! I tried deliberately to make sure she, Fjord, and Nott had plenty to do, since they were kind of sidelined for most of the fic almost as much as Molly was. This whole section was meant to be their chance to get some of their own back, culminating in the fact that if they couldn’t save Caleb, at least they’ll be the ones taking point on bringing him back.
I thiiiiiiink we should only have two chapters left, but I thought checking in with Molly would only take one chapter, so who the fuck knows.
