Wow! That reverse cthulhi nightmare scenario was amazing! It was so well written and it really gave me the feels- could I get some more thorough insight into reverse cthulhi Prosciutto’s backstory? 👀💖

Certainly Anon! But fair warning a TW for Child Abuse, and Abuse in general

Prosciutto was hatched to Maiale(Blanket Octopus) and Anacardio(Clubhook Squid) in Ry'leh. For the first five years of his life Prosciutto was happy, but when he entered school that's when everything started going south. Anacardio became more and more controlling of Prosciutto, limiting what he could do, who he could see and what not. If Prosciutto objected or went against his fathers word he would be punished with his Mind Control or Madness.

16 years old and deep in depression, to the point where he wouldn't even go to school anymore, Maiale became more and more concerned about her son but whenever she asked Prosciutto what was going on he really couldn't tell her because of Anacardios influence. It was only when 6 year old Pesci accidentally saw the abuse and told his mother, did Anacardio finally get what was coming to him. Namely, and fist to the face from Maiale.

Anacardio was arrested and investigated and, much to Maiales rage, the only charge that actually got him locked up in prison was his consumption of Firefly Squids and not the fact that he was mentally abusing his son.

After Anacardios conviction the Durante familys' name fell into disgrace and most of the other high standing families of Ry'leh wouldn't even associate with them anymore. But Maiale didn't care about that, she was much more concerned about Prosciutto than anything else. She invited her secret lover, Ravanello(and Pescis biological father), to live in the mansion with them.

It took a few years but thanks to Maiales love, Ravanellos kindness, and Pescis being there for his brother, Prosciutto slowly but surely started to come out of his depression and he was able to find his own happiness and reason for living.

And eventually he found Risotto as well...

Prosciutto peeks his head above the water of the marsh, his ears flick as he listens very closely and scans the area for any sign of his father. So far, nothing.

The Kelpie slowly rises out of the water and next to him Vorona’s head pops out of the water, she too is on high alert. The two massive monsters stand back to back as they examine every blade of grass, every ripple in the water for any sign of Anacardio. And so far, nothing.

"Okay it's all clear." Prosciutto says, and behind them two Mermaids, a Selkie and a Cthulhi emerge from the water.

They all look around nervously as they follow Vorona through the marsh to where the crate is supposed to be, everything has them on edge, even the croak of a frog makes them jolt. But they power on nonetheless.

"I don't like this." Vorona grumbles as she walks through the marsh, "It’s too quiet. Just like when Aosha got attacked by that freak of a Kelpie."

Prosciutto wants to retort and say something clever at Vorona but he keeps his mouth shut. She's right. She's absolutely right, it is far too quiet. Anacardio is without a doubt out here, and it wouldn't surprise Prosciutto if he was already watching and waiting for his opportunity to strike.

"There. That’s the crate there." Vorona says as she points in the distance.

Prosciutto audibly sighs with relief when he sees that crate and that it's untouched, hopefully the eggs inside are safe as well.

"Everyone be cautious," Risotto says as he rises out of the water, "We don't know if this Kelpie is around or not so be on your guard."

Melone and Ghiaccio nod at Risotto and stay close to him along with Sina, Vorona and Prosciutto circle around the crate as well as team 2 on the lookout as they retrieve the cargo. They inspect it head to toe for any damages and the exterior is in perfect condition save for a scratch or two here and there.

"The crates all good Boss!" Sina says to Vorona and the Cthulhi gives her a thumbs up while scanning the horizons for any sign of Anacardio.

Risotto with his powerful claws pries the crate open, he peers inside along with Ghiaccio, Melone and Sina. They see the eggs right off the bat, the ones on top wiggle inside of their membranes from the sunlight. Risotto very carefully checks the eggs for any damage or if the fetus's inside are still alive, he shuffles through them to make sure the ones on the bottom are okay as well. By the grace of the old Gods all nine eggs are there, safe and perfectly healthy.

Risotto sighs in relief, "This is wonderful. Every one of the eggs are in perfect condi—"

The water next to Risotto explodes. Sina flinches in surprise and Melone shrieks while Ghiaccio pulls him back away from the explosion. Looming above them is Anacardio who was patiently waiting, hidden among the water weeds for the opportunity to strike. Risotto doesn't have time to react when Anacardio lunges forward and bites down hard on Risottos wing. Risotto screams in pain as Anacardio lifts him out of the water and thrashes around with him, there’s a loud snap and the Kelpie releases Risotto, he flies through the air and skids across the water. When his momentum stops, Risotto lies limp in the water weeds.

"RISOTTO!" Prosciutto screams in horror at the sight, "YOU SON OF A BITCH I'LL MAKE YOU PAY FOR THAT!"

"PROSCIUTTO WAIT-!" Vorona cries out.

Prosciutto gallops towards Anacardio and spins on his hooves to deliver a powerful back kick directly to the side of Anacardio’s head. But the bigger Kelpie is unfazed by the kick, his sharp jagged teeth exposed in a kind of smile as he snaps forward and bites Prosciutto’s tail.

Prosciutto yelps in pain as Anacardio starts yanking and dragging him across the marshy water. For once, Prosciutto is far too large for Anacardio to thrash around like a ragdoll but that doesn't mean he isn't hurting him.

Vorona beats her wings and leaps on top of Anacardio’s back, the massive Kelpie yelping in surprise as Vorona starts punching his neck. Anacardio is forced to release Prosciutto as he bucks and kicks to get Vorona off of his back, as he does Prosciutto rears upwards with a snarl and slams his hooves down onto the water below. A black mass of seaweed writhes in the water and as Anacardio thrashes around the seaweed catches his hooves and crawls up his legs.

Anacardio whinnies as he tries to tear the kelp off of him with his teeth but there’s too much of it, the seaweed wraps itself around his back hooves as well and effectively restrains the monster.

"MELONE NOW!" Prosciutto yells.

Melone reaches into his bag, pulls out a poison dart and shoots Anacardio in the neck. The Kelpie seems unfazed by the poison dart bewildering Melone, the mermaid shoots another dart and Anacardio just whinnies at him mockingly. The Kelpie struggles in the kelp restraining him and he just manages to get his front hooves free from the restraints, just as Vorona was about to deliver another punch to his neck Anacardio whips his head around and bites down on Vorona’s wrist.

Vorona winces in pain and the wind is knocked out of her as Anacardio rips her off of his back and throws her at Prosciutto.

"Ough!" Prosciutto grunts in pain when Vorona’s massive body weight collides into him. The Kelpie falls to the ground and Vorona’s arms get tangled up in Prosciutto’s mane, the two of them struggle to get free of one another and get back up on their feet.

The kelp restraining Anacardio goes loose and the Kelpie bites all of it off, once again the monster stands proud and free. His sharp teeth are exposed and drool drips down his jowls as he stomps his way towards Prosciutto and Vorona who are trying to untangle themselves from each other, they're practically like sitting ducks to the monster.

But in the corner of his unblinking eye Anacardio spots movement, he turns his head and sees Ghiaccio, Melone and Sina working together to try and haul the crate away from this gruesome fight.

Anacardio turns away from Prosciutto and Vorona and trots towards Ghiaccio and Sina, his trot turning into a full blown gallop. Ghiaccio, Melone and Sina are frozen in horror as this demon horse charges towards them with nostrils flaring and teeth grinding together. They desperately try to pull the crate into the water, into safety, but its far too heavy for just the three of them.

"NO STOP!" Prosciutto cries in anguish as he shoves Vorona away from him and gallops towards Anacardio, "GET BACK HERE!"

But it's too late.

With a powerful kick Anacardio completely shatters the crate, bits of wood and seawater fly through the air, and most importantly, so do the eggs.

The nine eggs fly in all different directions from the impact of the kick and one of them lands right at Anacardio’s feet. The monster stands proudly over his work, he leans forward opening his mouth to take a bite out of the egg before him, but before he can Prosciutto slams into him with all of his might.

Anacardio is staggered from the sudden shove and Prosciutto bites into his fathers flesh ripping away massive chunks of hair and meat. "DON'T JUST STAND THERE AND GAWK, GET THE EGGS!" Prosciutto yells. Ghiaccio, Melone and Sina all snap out of their daze and rush to collect the eggs.

On the other side of the marsh Risotto comes out of his unconscious state and looks around, he sees Melone swimming towards him with an egg in his arms, looking very frantic.

"No time to explain Boss!" Melone says, "Just get the eggs! We have to get them away from this fight!"

Risotto looks over and sees the gruesome fight between Prosciutto and Anacardio as well as the Cthulhi eggs scattered all over the place. Risotto forces himself to get up and retrieve an egg all while ignoring the pain of his broken wing. Melone guides him to where one of the eggs are and he scoops it into his arms, the baby inside wiggling, and he goes after the next one.

Prosciutto and Anacardio kick and bite and draw blood with every attack they land in each other. This is a fight between monsters, and it's utterly horrifying. But as they fight Anacardio notices an egg partially submerged in the bank of the marsh, an evil sneer spreads across his face and he shoves Prosciutto away from himself and runs to eat the egg.

"OH NO YOU DON'T!" Prosciutto screams as he runs after him.

They're neck in neck as they race towards the egg and by some stretch of a miracle Prosciutto manages to beat Anacardio to the egg by just a hair. The Kelpie grabs the egg with his mouth and gently holds the precious cargo between his teeth as he puts as much distance between Anacardio and himself as possible.

"You are still so small..." Anacardio sneers at Prosciutto, and Prosciutto nostrils flare as he tries to breath through his nose, making sure he doesn't accidentally bite the egg.

Prosciutto’s shaking, this battle’s toll starting to catch up with him as he ignores the pain of all the cuts and lacerations on his body. Admittedly, he feels afraid with how much larger and stronger his father is in comparison to him. But now is not the time to be afraid.

"So small, so weak, so fragile..." Anacardio continues, "No wonder you align yourself with such insignificant creatures. If you were strong then you wouldn't have hesitated to eat that egg instead of protecting the unborn whelp inside!"

Anacardio rushes towards Prosciutto. The Kelpie turns his head away in order to keep the egg safe as Anacardio closes in on him, he tenses his back legs preparing himself to kick Anacardio with his full strength. Anacardio is running to his doom as Prosciutto readies himself to kick him right between the eyes, hopefully knocking out this monster or better yet, killing him, once and for all... But then there's a pop in his mouth along with a gush of fluids, in Prosciutto’s mouth something pudgy and soft squirms around and soon a wail can be heard.

The egg has hatched in between Prosciutto’s teeth.

Prosciutto’s eyes boggle out of his head as it takes every ounce of strength the Kelpie has for him not to gag or bite down on the newborn crying in his mouth. Prosciutto staggers and forgets about Anacardio as he starts to panic and freak out about the baby in his mouth. What does he do? His teeth are so sharp, what if he hurts the baby, what if he's already hurt the baby!? Is that why it's crying so loudly!?

He's snapped back into reality when Anacardio towers over him, the monster of a Kelpie is reared upwards and is about to strike Prosciutto down with his mighty hooves. Prosciutto turns away to protect the baby and braces himself for the impact of the attack.

But Prosciutto hears a loud scream and he looks over to see Vorona flying over at top speeds and rams into Anacardio.

The Kelpie falters, almost falling to the ground and Vorona clings to his massive body digging her claws into Anacardio’s flesh and tearing skin as she keeps the monster at bay.

"HURRY UP AND GET OUT OF HERE!" Vorona screams at Prosciutto, and Prosciutto doesn't need to be told twice.

The Kelpie runs away along with the baby and Anacardio attempts to give chase but Vorona refuses to let that happen. She holds her ground and drags Anacardio to the ground and starts wailing on him, but as she punches Anacardio catches Vorona forearm between his teeth and bites down hard. There’s a loud crack and Vorona hisses in pain, but she does not let up on letting Anacardio have it.

Prosciutto runs through the marsh while the baby wails in his mouth, he feels his heart wrench at the newborns cries and he so desperately wants to stop and get the child out of his mouth, away from his sharp teeth and soothe them. But he has to focus on getting out of here right now. He spots Risotto, Ghiaccio, Melone and Sina in the distance and it looks like they've all successfully managed to get the other eggs. Prosciutto runs up to them and skids to a stop, Risotto looks up at his beaten bloody body with worry.

"Prosciutto I do not mean to alarm you but there is a baby in your mouth!" Risotto says with concern and Prosciutto rolls his eyes.

Yeah no shit! he thinks, he can't exactly speak at the moment but that doesn't matter right now. He lowers himself to the ground and jerks his head at his back, silently telling Risotto to get on.

Risotto understands what Prosciutto is saying and he hands his eggs to Sina who struggles to hold onto them all. Risotto climbs up on Prosciutto’s back and hauls Sina up there as well; Melone and Ghiaccio do the same. Risotto holds onto Sina and Melone hangs onto Ghiaccio as Prosciutto rises from the ground and hauls ass away from this horrible marsh.

Sina looks behind her and watches as Vorona fights with Anacardio, a bit of worry creeping up in her heart for her Boss but she shakes her head and ignores these feelings. Vorona is strong. There's no way she'll lose this fight.

Anacardio’s teeth dig into Vorona’s arm and the Kelpie’s drinks the blue blood that goes down his throat, Vorona winces as the monster threatens to rip her arm off. In the distance she sees Prosciutto run off with everyone on his back and she sighs in relief that they're he and Sina are safe. But now is not the time to let her guard down.

She waits a little bit longer so that their far enough away to where Anacardio can't chase after them. And then when they're finally safe... Vorona cuts off her own arm.

Anacardio is surprised by Vorona sacrificing her own limb so much so that he doesn't even notice the fist coming straight for his face. Vorona punches directly on his eye and the Kelpie screeches in pain when his eyeball bursts.

With a powerful beat of her wings Vorona soars into the air, far out of Anacardio’s reach and flees from this fight, the arm dripping blood behind her.

Anacardio thrashes around in pain from the loss of his eye. With his good one left he looks around and sees that Vorona is gone as well as Prosciutto running off in the distance. Anacardio attempts to give chase, but its useless they are already gone and in a way, they have won this fight.

Bested by his own failure of a child and a ragtag group of Cthulhi, Mermaids and a Seal.

Enraged, Anacardio screams into the heavens, "YOU'RE ALL COWARDS! NOT EVEN BRAVE ENOUGH TO STAY AND FACE ME!" He continues to scream but no one is around to hear him, "I'LL FIND YOU! I'LL FIND YOU AND YOU'LL PAY FOR MAKING A MOCKERY OF ME! YOU'LL ALL PAY!"

Despite Anacardio’s warning Prosciutto doesn't care. Anacardio wouldn't dare leave his territory unless he was willing to abandon it completely, and he won't do that. Anacardio is far to proud and stubborn to do that. So for now Prosciutto pays no mind to Anacardio and instead focuses on getting back home so he can properly care for the newborn in his mouth as well as Risotto’s injuries as well...

How about a scenario for cthulu prosciuttos hatching? How would maiale react to her son being born..... as well as anacardio?

Baby Cthulhi!Prosciutto!

Maiale has been sitting by the basin for a few days now, she’s only left to eat and use the bathroom. Her baby looks just like her except with light blues and yellows, and she couldn’t be more excited to see her baby hatch.

She and Anacardio already decided on the name Prosciutto. Apparently in the human language it means cured ham, but whatever! It sounds nice! Speaking of Anacardio, where is her husband? Hopefully not one of those things he does that lands him a day in prison...

As her mind swims in her thoughts, she hears a squeak and a rubbery tear. “Oh my goodness!” She squeals and hunches over the basin to watch her son take his first breath!

Prosciutto’s chubby arms stretch and he breaks out of the egg’s membrane with ease. His mantle expands as it takes in the seawater in the basin, and his big blue eyes open as the warm water flushes over his virgin gills. His eyes set onto his mother, and in an instant, he breaks out into a grin beneath his tentacles and babbles.

Maiale’s heart m e l t s. Oh gosh, her son is just the cutest in the world! But she already knew that. She gently scoops Prosciutto into her arms and coos, “Hi there, Prosciutto...”

“Aaaaaaah!” Prosciutto squeals and reaches for his mommy’s tentacles. He’s having a blast.

Maiale turns her head when she hears the door to the nursery slide open. Anacardio the Clubhook Squid enters, though shorter than Maiale he is quite tall for the average male. “The baby hatched already?” He asks rather apathetically, despite being late for the hatching.

“Yes! Look at him, he has your eyes!” Quite a joyous revelation considering genetic traits are completely random rather than passed down from parents.

Anacardio stares down at his newborn child. Prosciutto’s attention shifts from his mother to his father, he giggles seeing Anacardio’s wide eyes. A tiny spark of warmth lights in Anacardio’s heart at his son. What a cute little baby. He pats Prosciutto on the head, causing Prosciutto to erupt into giggles.

Maiale smiles, her skin turning a warm shade of purple. “We’re really going to raise a child together. It’s really happening!” Anacardio merely nods, smiling to himself as well.

If only things could stay peaceful and loving like this forever.

So anacardios body is basically sitting in the forest rotting right? Im pretty sure thats a biohazard, so could you do a scenario where illuso is taken to anacardios body and is asked, “So. You think you can eat this?” and illuso stares at the massive vampire corpse and is like, “wft NO.”

THIS THING IS TOO DAMN BIG TO EAT!!!!

Illuso walks behind Prosciutto through the forest. The blonde man called him a few days ago saying that he needed a favor, and so here he is, being lead to where this favor is.

As they delve deeper into the forest the smell of rot hits Illusos nostrils. The Ghoul starts to salivate and he wips his mouth with his sleeve, and soon his jaw drops when he comes face to face with the giant corpse of a bat.

Prosciutto turns to Illuso and speaks to him dryly, “So. You think you can eat this thing?”

Illuso is speechless for a moment, this thing is fucking huge! Easily twice the size of a house, “What the fuck, uh NO!” Illuso cries out.

Prosciutto stares at Illuso, the expression on his face unreadable, “...So you won’t eat him?”

“No I mean, yeah I’ll have a bite...” Illuso mumbles as he looks at the delicious corpse before him, “But like, I can’t eat this whole thing! I’ll need at least 20 others Ghouls to finish this whole thing off!”

Irritated Prosciutto clicks his tongue, “Okay cool. Thanks for being useless then.” Prosciutto sneers at the Ghoul.

Illuso glares at Prosciutto, “Hey hey what the hell is your problem? Did Risotto fuck you the wrong way or something?”

For a brief moment Prosciuttos eyes are filled with nothing but malice sending a shiver up Illusos spine, “Okay okay, I take it back. Jesus learn to take a joke...” Illuso says holding his hands up defensively.

“And besides why do you want me to eat this thing? Its a Vampire isn’t it? What, do Vampires not have burial rights or something?”

“No, we do. This bastard just doesn’t deserve to have a proper burial.” Prosciutto spits out filled with spite.

Illuso stares at Prosciutto with a bit of concern, “Hey are you okay?”

Prosciutto is silent for a moment, “...No. Im just- I’m just going through some things right now.” He admits pinching the bridge of his nose.

“I don’t really know what’s going on in your life right now but I think you should try and relax a little bit Prosciutto,” Illuso says, “Seriously, you look like death. And that’s saying something because you’re a Vampire.”

Prosciutto takes in a deep breath, “Yeah you’re right about that I suppose.” Prosciutto says with a light chuckle, “Sorry for snapping at you.”

“Eh it’s no big deal, you’re lucky I’m such a forgiving guy,” Illuso says with a smirk, “But hey I’m sorry that I can’t help you out here.” Illuso says, “This is just way too much for me to handle all by myself.”

“No it’s fine, I understand.” Prosciutto says looking up and down at Anacardios body, “Damn it, I really need to figure out how to get rid of this thing before it stinks up the whole forest...” Prosciutto mumbles.

“Well hey I wish you the best of luck with that.” Illuso says. The Ghoul looks upon the delicious meaty corpse and his stomach starts to growl, “...But can I still have a bite though? I haven’t had lunch yet.”

Prosciutto chuckles as he reaches into his bag and pulls out a knife tossing it at Illuso, “Knock yourself out.”

Why was bruno so hostile towards prosciutto in the recthulhi au? Does Anacardio have like a reputation or something?

Anacardio did a fantastic job at ruining Prosciuttos family name.

Cannibalism (like eating octopus and squid not necessarily other Cthulhi) is a very very serious crime in Ry'leh. So basically when Anacardios crimes came to light Maiale and Prosciutto were shunned alongside Anacardio, as they say in Ry'leh "The coral egg doesn't drift far from the reef."

So yeah, Bruno was being super judgmental and petty because of something that Prosciutto had nothing to do with.
