Yeah they were at each others throats for a HOT ASS MINUTE. I think its said in like an in between page in the comics... though I cant remember which one. But regardless its no biggie. Im sure the VAST majority of people who like The Old Guard liked the movies and didnt bother with the comics (probably because they style is kinda jank sometimes) but they dont know what theyre (and you) are missing out on!

Lots of good fun! AND DRAMA. Tho if you like the movies I dont think readin the comics is ENTIRELY necessary. There are A LOT of changes... the biggest one being Andy never loses her immortality. I genuinely dont know what TOG2 could even be because the whole trajectory of the story is out of whack with that change alone.

Its also gonna be a shame that Quynh wont get the fun return entrance she/Riko did in the comic... where she fucking pops out of a shipping container and shoots Andy to death and is like ;D HEY LOVER~ like the freak that she is. We also cant get Nickys most unhinged deranged moment where he shoots and kills Andy because shes in the way of him shooting and killing Riko (presumably because he got pissed she killed Joe randomly. Nicky never takes that well.).

But yeah thats why the little comic I made a while back of their last kill Nicky sorta hunts Joe down but then feels too bad about it. After all the years I could only imagine they wore each other down real bad. That comic was actually quite a bit longer but I was lazy!

I think, weirdly, what always bothers me most is women (or nb folk - not-men, anyway) hating on Reylo. I can understand men being a*holes, hating us, and/or not getting (or caring) what the ship/narrative is actually about. But when I hear my non-male friends go on and on about how it's abusive and bad and YOUNG GIRLS SHOUDN'T BE EXPOSED TO THIS!!1... it just makes me sad. In a different, deeper way. Maybe bc I know they mean it; bc they have no ulterior motive - they just think Ben is horrible.

It’s “I’m not like other girls.” When you understand this, it makes sense. It’s why some of the people who went hardest at Twilight did it so they wouldn’t be lumped in with GIRLS LIKE THAT. Whatever happened to the whole 'Isabella's a clone of Kristen' thing??? If we find out ten years later that it was a plotline but then dropped I swear to god -

I’m pretty sure it’s dropped forever and there wasn’t some awsm secret behind it, just the worst throw in ruining a relationship ever. The writers has shown time after time they are master on plot drops, It wouldn’t surprise me if some ppl are from the dexter season 8 team, their plot was basically PLOT DROP. I always give shows up until final ep to proof themselves, if they solve all plots and Nygmob in s5 I’ll forgive them a bit. But I doubt it, especially since it’s coming news every week now how they will introduce 100 new villains instead of focusing wrapping up all the good characters we had from season 1. I think Oswald’s wardrobe could be the best thing with s5 to enjoy, not messy plots. But I’ll give them a chance to fix everything! I’m shook they DID bring up Gertrude again, because that annoyed me af for two seasons that it seemed like Oswald had forgiven Tabs but YES good thank you. So there is maybe a little tiny hope.

Things that I love about this: - the concept itself (obvs) since HOLY SHIT how much more fucked up can a situation/ship possibly be??? I LOVE IT - the art style (equally obviously) - EVERYTHING ELSE like, Peter‘s expression, the jarringly bright colors of the wires, the detail with Miggs‘ mask still partly sitting on his head, the fact that it actually took my brain several attempts to compute that those are MECHANICAL RIBS SHOWING, that bot!Peter is actually this incomplete and it‘s so bea-

I'm pretty sure yours is the first positive review of the Joker movie I've seen.... but as your opinion counts x100 in my book by default, and especially so when it comes to everyone's favorite 🤡, I might well give it a shot after all!

I was agnostic about it and basically thought it would be an interesting movie but maybe not a good Joker movie. But it was both! 

There are aspects of it that are very theatrical and over-the-top, but the logic is built in, as much of what we see is from Arthur’s perspective or Arthur’s fantasies. Didn’t know how much they’d go with an unreliable narrator trope, which I consider essential to most Joker origin stories, but they managed to both incorporate that trope and convince me that, were we to take everything at face value, it would still be really good origin story for him. I genuinely didn’t know what was going to happen next most of the time, which is always a thumbs up for me. I don’t necessarily think everyone will like it or has to like it, but it was right up my alley and gave me a lot of Joker feels. Joaquin was great.
