1. to anyone who doesn’t know her, she can appear to be very cold. she tends to be fairly stoic - her expressions don’t really shift unless she’s caught off guard, so it isn’t obvious on her face when she’s fond of someone. it’s always been this way, too.

2. she’s more physically open when she’s comfortable with someone, though. she gets very ‘clingy’ in the sense that she’ll lean or drape herself around friends and other loved ones. reassuring squeezes, gentle touches in passing, playing with hair - all ways that her affection does show.

3. outright voicing her fondness is difficult. the vulnerability of it makes her too nervous, or gets her flustered, so it often comes out as praise in other ways - like compliments on skills - or by her own genuine attentiveness.

Maybe Luna + her favorite world?

For many years, Luna thinks that her favorite world is Dromund Kaas. It’s where she was born, it’s where she grew up, and it’s hard for her to imagine calling anywhere else home. When she starts doing field work offworld, she has trouble sleeping without the rain, without the lightning, without the occasional sound of soldiers marching just outside of her window.

When she starts working for intelligence, she realizes how wrong she was. She loves how easy it is to hide out and pretend to be someone else on Nar Shaddaa. She loves how easy it is to get her hands on just about anything - how easy it is to obtain the intel that she needs, so long as she’s willing to pay the price for it.

After her defection, she loves how easy it is to meet with her contacts discreetly. A little bit of play acting, a seedy cantina where no one will recognize them and a time of day where everyone has had at least a little to drink, and she’s the safest that she’ll ever be, most likely.

26. what is the worst writing advice in your opinion?

i think telling anyone that they can't used 'said' or 'says' is........really bad. i mean, as long as you fill out your sentences and add other interesting things to them, you can use it as much as you want. as a dialogue tag it pretty much goes unnoticed, which allows you to make other ones stand out.

i was reading a list of replacement suggestions and one of them was, 'orated'. let me tell you, if i came across that in a book i would feel v disconnected from what i was reading.

27. what is the best writing advice?

i think in the same vein, if your style isn't necessarily grammatically correct...who cares. i'm very much drawn to the way writing flows and sounds and i don't care if there's a run on sentence, or if you start your sentence with 'and' or 'but'. like. it's all about the mood you're creating, and i think you can create more emotional impact when you bend the rules a little.

(much more practical advice is to pay attention to the senses: sight/hearing/taste/smell/touch.)
