@analuein, contd. from here
"WOW! Great form! Very nice!"
Svern claps his hands together, grinning in a wide and ingenuine way. He then proceeds to follow behind Thorton, mimicking Thorton's OBNOXIOUS STRUT perfectly, at the right distance and maintaining the right speed so there's no risk of stepping on Thorton's heels.
That's probably the only considerate thing he's doing here.

Clair merely arches an eyebrow in response to Thorton's threat. She's not intimidated in the least, and remains quite cross with him. The Factory Head is definitely still in trouble.
She pinches the Brain's latest gadget--a futuristic, data-gathering rover--between gloved fingers, holding the machine at a distance like it's some disgusting bug. To be fair to Thorton, his pathfinder is a gorgeous technological marvel, but such innovations are still not appreciated or allowed in the Dragon's Den. No exceptions. And while some of her younger Gym Trainers may have a more lenient approach to this traditionalist rule, Clair wields the Clan's prohibition with an iron fist. She has to. (It's about respect.)
Thorton's wandering rover was all set for its execution--an unceremonious dunk in Blackthorn's lake--but the panicked Brain had arrived at the eleventh hour, all shrill protests and red-faced pleading. In the past, Clair might have simply ignored the Head's blustering, but she's not as absolute or cruel anymore. (Jagged edges add a sloppy element to her otherwise sharp personality.)
So, with a sigh hissing out of the corner of her mouth, the Gym Leader pauses...and proceeds to hold out Thorton's invention in her palm. "Hmph. Take it already."
"And just so we're clear, your toys are not allowed in the Dragon's Den, Factory Head or not," Clair growls, jabbing a finger into Thorton's chest with her free hand. "...Do we have an understanding, Brain?"

Caitlin flashes Thorton a relaxed smile. "Naturally, I'm not one to just sit by idly and miss all the fun, especially when both my champion and an old friend of mine are jumping straight into the fray. Besides, if we go together, we'll have nothing to worry about."
Taking on an eerie pink glow, she flicks her wrist and levitates a pair of Poké Balls from among her tulle and satin skirts. Genevieve materializes from the first, regal and impassive as she stands tall beside Caitlin. The other yields Brutus, her Metagross, who chooses to loom menacingly in the penumbra.
"We're ready. You can count on me to watch your back."

"I cannot comprehend some of the things you are capable of setting your mind to do. It's a remarkable gift. So, I think this pokemon is a good fit. One that can make clocks run backwards, manipulate screens, or tamper with precision tools... but no-one aside from them know how they're able to do so."
@analuein - from here (A THORTON-NAPPING!!)
Dendra is all smiles as Thorton--her captive emergency guest lecturer--clutches up and manages to introduce himself to the skeptical Battle Studies class. It's notoriously difficult to impress the top-notch students here--they're the best of the best, after all--and they're not sure what to make of the uptight Frontier Brain. A few kids snicker knowingly in the back of the group. This is Ms. Dendra's class, after all--does Thorton know what he's in for?
The teacher in question, however, is still her usual bright ball of energy, offering Thorton a jaunty salute. "Thorton's so right, class! You're gonna need both knowledge and experience--" she pauses, bringing her fists together with a big grin, "--to power towards victory, in Pokemon battles and in life! Osu, osu! I knew I reeled in a sharp co-host today!" (She offers the Factory Head an encouraging wink. You're doing so good!)
"Alright, Mr. Thorton, please meet the Paldean Dojo!" Dendra continues, bouncing on her heels as she releases FALINKS from their capsule, the brass and soldiers standing at rapt attention. "It's time to get started with today's lesson on SETUP MOVES! Remember class: as tempting as it is to blindly attack your opponent over and over, proper prep work with the right moves can help power you up for battle success in the long run! Dojo, No Retreat!"

"Look, if you get hit by three Falcon Punches in a row and die off the side of the stage, that's not my problem. Sounds like your giant calculator of a brain is still no match for my Captain Falcon: Special Fury Style* yet--but not many people are! Don't sweat it, Thort Thorts!"
Barry peels Thorton's letter from the door and scribbles 'skill issue' on the back before reapplying and sprinting off with a giggle. Yup, that'll definitely smooth things over...
(*Special Fury Style = Barry runs around the stage and repeatedly spams Falcon Punch in random directions. No aim, no setup. Just, um, fury.)
