15sec of Optex 1.33x together with Canon FD 50mm F1.4 & Lens Turbo II. Shot on FS100 with Canon set to F2.8. If you want the lens with "JJ ABRAMS" anamorphic flares, you can't so much better than OPTEX or CENTURY equivalent :) On the downside though, these anamorphic attachment lenses are not the sharpest out there, especially around the edges which is ok for a scene like this, but looks quite bad on wide shots when you want everything in focus. Coming back to positives: it's one of the smallest & lightest anamorphic solutions with a benefit of single focus functionality. All the focusing is done with the taking lens, but that has its own downside: poor closest focusing distance of about 3-4m. There is no filter thread too, so to add a diopter you need to mod the front which is fortunately very easy with a step up ring and some electric tape. Overall as you can see this lens is a mix of positives and negatives, which in fact is the case with most low budget anamorphic solutions. I still haven't decided which anamorphic I like the most, but as far as strong anamorphic flares go, I could ask for much more than Optex/Century 1.33x #optex #optexanamorphic #centuryanamorphic #anamorphic #anamorphiclens #anamorphicadapter #cinemascope #canonfd #sony #sonynex #fs100 #lensturbo #lensturbo2 #zhongyi #mitakon #canonlens #fdlens #vintagelens #vintagelenses #vintagelensesforvideo #legacylens #oldlens
