The way I need the context of this part specifically
Does Anawin lose himself thanks to the story? Does it corrupt him? Is it another character who broke free from the story and happens to look like him? Is it a reflection of who he really is inside? Or who he could become? Doed he write himself in as an OC? I NEED ANSWERS JEFF SATUR!!!
So.. I guess Damon didn't like his author enough to kill the author and bring the book to Anawin. He heard Anawin's rant and was like: Write the proper ending. My Happy Ending. Anawin going from antifan to like Oh No He's Hot. Real quick. Though like as I've said.. if I just had a killer knife-wielder who's unhinged lean over my body like that I'd be panting too. Me thinking that Anawin takes Damon home cause like.. IDK? and that's why we have chest-stroke-scene. Damon prob like: I mean if I have to be romantic about it... Ramblings. I stayed up till 5am to watch the pilot. 8).
Why do I have the feeling that Jeff is going to brain us with the meaning of "Happy Ending"? A Happy ending depends a lot on the perspective you look at it from.
The general meaning of it is "the bad guys are defeated and the good guys live happily ever after" right? Does Damon seem like a "good guy" to you?
My theory is : Damon won't get his happy ending, he'll either get cautght/killed or just put back into his book or something. But, thanks to (or "because of" depending on the point of view) that, his killings will be stopped, saving lives.
I can already see people complaining on the bird app that Jeff lied, that there wasn't any "Happy Ending", that his character was robbed from happiness and love once again, and see him responding "But, a psychotic serial killer being put out of action isn't a happy ending for you all?🤨"
He's playing with the audience's perspective. Making a bad guy the main character makes us see the story through him, makes us sympathize with him, slowly making us take his side, even if it's not logical. Humans put empathy before reason. It takes a lot to see through the empathic frog to finally see the bigger picture: Damon is hurting/killing people, he needs to be stopped to save lives.
I'm sure "Happy Ending the serie" will have a happy ending, just not the one we want.
okay but the shot in the pilot where the newscaster is talking about the original author being found dead and it pans just slightly to show anawin in the mirror makes me think he's going to meet a similar fate
serendipity for the word thing
/ˌserənˈdipədē/
noun
the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.

ana always talked about her “happy little accidents.”
edwin had never really believed in coincidences or luck, but there was something about the way her eyes lit up and she smiled that made him want to believe that life was as magic as she said, an slowly, over time, he started to.
“look, ana,” he said softly, when a broken jug of water had let to a new plant sprouting, “a happy little accident.”
she walked up behind him and peered over his shoulder, smiling when she saw the plant, then kissed him on the cheek. “it’s serendipity, my love.”
edwin decided that he liked that word.
