The sun had set on the beach - but no one was leaving. Torches and campfires were lit, strings of lights hung over umbrellas illuminated animated conversations beneath them, and the glow of Tuliyollal's lanterns was as warm as the shallow shores. Yloise poured herself another glass of wine, and offered the bottle to Ancel. He took the bottle from her, but didn't pour himself any more, nuzzling the bottle into the sand beside them.

"So? Answer the question!" he mock-commanded.

"'Anywhere'?" She exhaled dramatically. "Hmm. I hadn't really thought of it," she lied.

"There must be somewhere," Ancel insisted. His cheeks were flushed from the wine and the heat. Yloise's smile grew crooked as she watched the waves lap at the edge of the sea. She bowed her head before continuing.

"Do you ever think about Amaurot?" she whispered, taking another sip of wine, as if what she had asked was a casual inquiry. Ancel's eyes narrowed.

"I try not to." He picked up the bottle again, and poured himself a glass after all. "You're not still-"

"I think about it. I dream about it. The scale of it-"

"Tis an illusion." The interruption was not meant to be unkind, but Ancel had thought she was past this. He thought she knew better by now.

"But our time in Elpis was not an illusion, nor the Pandaemonium." He huffed at this, but she continued. "If we could go there, why not Amaurot?"

"You already know 'why not Amaurot.'" Ancel smiled then, an attempt at reassurance: that he did not judge, that he had forgiven her, that all that occurred was in the past and should stay there. Yloise shifted positions, tucking her legs beneath her on the blanket spread over the sand, so she could face the ocean more directly.

"You did say 'anywhere,'" she pouted.

A failed attempt, alas. We made it out alive but all my lance did was crack his mask...

Gpose 2023 Wrapped!

I didn't take actual poses every single month this year, and I had more than 12 favourites so I just....didn't limit myself to 12!

Goals for 2024 are to start making more lengthy comics instead of one or two single poses.

I don’t think I’ve shown off Ancel’s scars here yet. They’re perpetually in WIP but I’m decently pleased with this pass. ^^
