You have already picked a road to walk on, pointed towards your future. How can you possibly know it's the right way to go if you're only 19 and without a map? Or guidance? And when you walk shyly down that road and slowly begin realizing that it's not leading where you want to go, there is little you can do. Sure, there are many turns you can make. But what guarantees that you won't make the same mistake again? How can you be sure you won't pick another road driven by interests that turn out to be only temporary? And what road should you pick? Or should you ignore your displeasure with the current way and keep going, even with great reluctance?

You are 20 now. It's a big number, isn't it? You are an adult now. Supposed to be one at least. Yet you don't feel like one. Aren't adults supposed to know all the answers and have the maps necessary to reach their destination? At first you're ashamed to tell someone that you've been holding the map upside-down. But once you do tell someone, usually a parent, it doesn't make you feel any better, or safer. They criticize you on not knowing how to read the map, tell you how you should be making decision on your own now. Even if you genuinely ask them for guidance, all they can do is show you the way they feel is most suitable for their own ambitions.

And you end up standing with your hands outstretched and wondering just where you should go now. People around you tell you how you are the one who has to make the decision, when all you want is someone to make it all easy for you. Then again, you really want your own... But while everyone expects you to take matters into your own hands, you just want to back away. Submerge yourself in the world that only exists for those who seek to run away.
