Following the attempted assassination of her wife, Klark, Leksa launches a campaign to end Azplana. After months on the hunt, Heda and Nia come face-to-face on the battlefield. The battle is hard fought and leaves Leksa gravely injured. While Leksa returns victorious, she is left wondering if Nia's ailment has been passed to her. Plagued by nightmares and odd occurrences, Leksa begins to believe she might have been cursed.

Did Nia's scourge pass to Leksa? Why does she dream of running in the forest alongside the legendary Fenrir? Is it a curse? A dream? Has Loki tricked her? Or has Leksa been touched by the gods, as Klark believes?
