“Hay Hay!!”

Vy came running into the room the instance he was back from work, for once having agreed to flying home alongside Hayle. 

“How was work?” “Are you okay?” “Yes.”

He smiles as he finds himself with his arm full of Vy, who is checking him for any signs of him being ill, eventually when he is content that he is fine, he finds himself kissed instead. 

“Was it that bad at work?” “Yes! I mean.. No, but I was worried about you.” “You know they would have called, and you would have known if it was too bad.” “Yes.. but still.. “

He pouted, which made Hayden smile, and made him pretty sure he wanted to do what had been on his mind for a while. 

“Vy?” “Yes?” “Would you go somewhere with me.. Like.. a date?” “A date? Are you sure, are you well enough?” “I was thinking tomorrow.. Since I know your off work?” “Ooooh! YES!” “Wait.. this date comes with a, well to get there, we’d need to let Chris take us.” “Oh….”

Hayden pulled Vy close, he knew he still did not like the portals, but to go where he wanted to go, there was really no other way to handle it. At least not in the one day he knew they had. 

“Where are we going Hay hay?” “Well if I told you, it would ruin the surprise, wouldn’t it?” “I guess… “

He wants to go with Hayden, but he knows what Hayden is talking about is having Chris use his way of travel, and although he trusts him, he really does not like that way of travel. The idea of something going wrong and them being thrown somewhere else always in the back of his mind. 

“So?” “Kay Hay hay, I want to go with you.”

He cuddled up close to Hayden, wondering where he would be taking him. It would be their first date, although River said they had been on plenty already, just that they never called them that, going to the local cafe that had his favorite cake, the library, just going for long walks, all the things they once couldn’t do. The next morning, they stood in the kitchen, waving goodbye to River and Rylan that were heading to the shelter, Rylan was finally almost back to his old self, having been good with his diet, and as Vy so aptly said, he was back to his old demigod self. 

“Good to go?”

Chris walked up to them, Hayle sitting with his coffee cup in his hands, just watching them with a smile. 

“Yep, or well I am, how about you Vy?” “Yeah….” “Don’t worry, we’ll go exactly where we're supposed too, and when you want to go home, just message me and I’ll come pick you up again.” “Okay!”

Chris knew he trusted him, but he also knew he simply did not like portals, so the fact that he said yes to go, was a pretty big step for him to take. Nodding at his husband, he put a hand on each of their shoulders, and just a second or two later, they were all standing in Sulani, close to their home, a bag there, with clothing that Hayden had taken there the day before.

“Is this?” “Sulani.. Yes.”

Chris smiled and vanished again, Hayden turning to Vy.
