Lance removed his headphones all the way. "Calculus."
"Excuse me?" Theia asked, sounding very confused.
"It's a type of math," Lance replied.
"I know what calculus is," Theia replied with a huff. "What I meant was why are you doing calculus?"
"Well, Theia, in mundane schools we have this thing called homework-"
"Lance!" Theia slapped his shoulder harshly. "You need a plan. We need a plan. We could be battling Lucifer this time next week. How can you be doing homework?"
Lance pointed at his notes. "This is due tomorrow. My calc teacher is way scarier than Lucifer, trust me."
"Lance, I swear to Raziel, I don't care if you have a demon army. I will punch you," Theia groaned.
He cocked his head. "Would you slap me again instead?"
"I'm leaving-"
"Hold on," He grabbed her arm and pulled her back against the study table. "Why are you so riled up?"
"Aren't you worried?" Theia asked him. "Lance, you turn 18 next week."
"Adulthood is inevitable," Lance shrugged.
"Lance," she sighed softly.
"What do you want me to do?" Lance relented.
