All the gerrymandering going on right now is obviously very bad and racist and I don’t want to down play it, but I do think it’s important to remember that gerrymandering can only do so much when it comes to determining the outcome of an election and that what ultimately matters is how people are voting. It doesn’t matter how fucked the districts are if most of the people voting in them vote against the republicans anyway, so while we have to worry about procedural rigging and crappy legal issues, focusing on getting as many people voting for you as possible will ultimately allow you to overcome those hurdles or at least make it living hell for the people who get into power through these underhanded techniques. This does require the democrats or whoever else to run decent candidates who are committed to supporting the working class and who really care about helping and representing their constituents, but it can be done and will ultimately matter more than any procedural hurdle ever could.

#Trump isn’t that popular guys #He’s pissed off a lot of people #Gullible people maybe #But people none the less #Hungary just saw Orban lose in this fashion #So it’s not impossible #Biden was also kind of doing this stuff to Trump and that just helped him get reelected more than anything #Though that was obviously less extreme #And halfassed #You have to go out and talk to voters #And use their concerns to make a platform that will excite them #Because otherwise they wouldn’t care enough to go out and vote #Especially if their vote is already being suppressed #Right now the best platform for that seems to be going as left wing economically as possible while not being annoying about it #In my home state you’d also have to try and make it a homegrown thing #Since people think their conservative representatives are showing how great the state is compared to all those elitist liberals #So you’d have to try and make it about how you can make the state better while aligning with it’s principles more than the people incharge #Even though most of those principles suck ass #You can probably avoid some of those though #Just make it about how your homegrown socialism is better than both the republicans and democrats #And do other things to appeal to people’s egos #There are also other things to do besides voting #But being in power is obviously better than not #Sorry guys #a mutual aid kitchen isn’t a replacement for government control #It would be cool if someone could find a way to make it one though #Like the original soviets were #to summarize #We need to be to big to rig #voting rights
