new canaanites still celebrate easter, christmas, pioneer day. and teaching them to the dead horses is the highlight of daniel's year when joshua graham joins in to participate, albeit not as festive as daniel. there's food, daniel teaches them hymns around a campfire, graham shares stories of new canaan's beginning to the tribe. the threat of the white legs are a thing of the past and daniel swears he can convince graham to stand and dance with him and the dead horses, "not a dancer, graham?", "never was," "the night's still young," and daniel swears he sees a hint of a smile beneath that mask, a tell tale crinkling of his eyes, however slight.
