"Don't pretend, I think you know I'm damn precious And hell yeah, I'm the mother fucking princess"
Lyrics by Avril Lavigne
Id love to hear more about your dragon Jeremy au if youre feeling it?
Jeremy’s eyes slid into slits as he watched from his perch among the canopy of the trees, mentally noting how the human glanced behind them nervously even though nothing around them moved. It was as if the forest itself was scared to breath, to make the intruder aware of its presence too much, to draw attention to itself as if the human would strike out.
He was careful with his movements, making sure to follow Jack’s advice perfectly, wincing at the smallest noise that he made. His tail trailed behind him almost lazily; staying in the air enough to not brush against the branches he walked along but low enough to keep close and balance him on the precarious walkway. He moved only when the human did, timed it so his paws lifted and fell in time with the jerky movements of the stranger. His eyes flickered up to the branches every so often to make sure they were still sturdy and could still hold his weight.
He stopped in his motions as the human glanced behind them once more and saw the moment their eyes jerked upwards just the slightest and knew that he’d somehow been caught. He leapt before the other could move, teeth bared and claws out ready to grasp. Somewhere from his left came a wooden spear from the shadows that managed to pierce between his scales and dug into his flesh. He let out a cry at the surprise, whipping his head around to try to spot where the attack had come from. There, a ways off crouched in the bushes, was another human that was wrapped in all black from head to toe, their face barely visible among the shadows the night cast around them.
Jeremy slid to a stop once he hit the ground and abandoned his original prey for the newcomer, lunging at them to easily close the distance between them. The human tried to scramble back but Jeremy managed to latch onto their leg with his teeth. He stared at what he saw was now a woman and felt his stomach drop as he debated on what to do with her.
He’d never actually gotten into a fight with the humans who crossed into the forest. He’d always managed to scare them away with a loud roar and a couple of flaps of his wings.
A crossbow was pointed directly at his face, his eye and he didn’t have time to think it over anymore. He instinctively shook his head violently. Felt the way his teeth dug into the woman’s leg and rip, the taste of her blood on his tongue making him want to gag. Heard the human’s cry as his teeth lost their grip and she was flung into a nearby tree, the sound cutting short in a way that Jeremy didn’t want to think about.
Orange eyes scanned over the forest floor, looking for the original intruder or any others hiding in the trees. He found nothing and almost sagged in relief. He didn’t want to hurt anyone else.
But then he heard a wild cry from above and easily sidestepped out of the way with a flap of his wings, watching half amused as the first human fell to the ground wielding what looked to be a simple dagger. The dragon huffed at the sight as smoke trailed out of his nose. The man- now that Jeremy was able to see their face properly- had a wild look to his eyes and Jeremy shook his head again. He puffed out his chest and spread his wings, standing on his hind legs to try to appear as menacing as he could so the human would maybe run instead of trying to fight.
But the man seemed to think that was an opening for an attack for he charged at Jeremy with another battle cry and Jeremy wanted to roll his eyes. He waited as the stranger slashed at him with their feeble dagger, the blade merely scratching uselessly at even his soft underbelly scales.
After a few more swipes, Jeremy slammed his front paws back onto the ground, feeling a bit smug as the ground shook. He looked underneath him to the human who was starting to breathe heavily and waited. The man looked up to meet his gaze before those crazy eyes narrowed. With a grunt- and a surprising amount of force- he drove the blunt dagger past the scales into the soft skin underneath and Jeremy hissed in pain as he pulled back. He clenched his jaw before lifting his right paw up and bringing it back down again. He heard a couple of different snaps as the ground shook once more, refusing to look at what he had just done.
He could feel his mouth start to water and quickly turned away from the bodies in order to release what little bit of food he’d had in his stomach. He drug his right front paw through the grass as he walked, trying to get rid of all that was stuck to it, trying his hardest to not think about what he just did and certainly not trying to justify his actions.
