ok i'm going to make it a little bit easier for you all if you want me to be negative about the show, all you have to do is talk about the art stylization LOL this is the cheat code. i'm giving this to you like a video game that is desperate to offer a hint
#out of context i think the style is really great and well drawn but for homestuck specifically i can't help but feel that it's uninspired#and lacking experimentation#i feel that it's “playing it too safe” so to say. which is especially strange to me considering how iconic the webcomic's style was#in terms of the flat shading aliasing etc that made it look like it was drawn in 15 minutes on mspaint#imagine how cool a show with the same “amateurish- rough around the edges” look could be?#and unlike things we have no way of judging yet like plot- pacing- characterization- etc that we haven't seen yet#the pilot gives us a good idea of what the artistic direction will be like#for the record i think the animation itself is great and so far my favorite bit of visual stylization is the characters popping out of#little bubbles
