Isn’t perception funny?

I’m writing a Harry Potter fic and I state Harry’s hight at 5′8″ and have Severus refer to him as ‘not very tall’. One of my betas noted this upon editing and said: “how tall is Daniel Radcliff?” I’m all, I dunno! I look it up and he’s... 5′5″! I’m all WHAT?! That’s so tiny. According to google, Rupert Grint is only 5′ 8″. I’m... sorry, what?  Of course, I’m 5′11″ so this must be all about perception, I suppose, but I’m sitting here gobsmacked by this information. I didn’t think either of them was especially tall, but to me, 5′8″ was saying Harry was short! LOL!

Communicating Closure

I am so relieved. Things were weird for almost a whole week, but now that they are resolved, I feel so much better. It may not have been resolved in my preference, but it was resolved. Being friends is better than not talking, so I will take that any day.

Maybe not coming up early would have changed things, maybe it wouldn't. I am just glad that I haven't lost a friend. I am glad that things were resolved swiftly and in an adult manner. I look forward to seeing him at the beginning of the month.

Communication leads to closure, closure leads to relief, and relief means that I can happily and easily go back to the way things were.

I am actually very glad to have had this experience. He has reminded me that there are, in fact, guys out there who treat me like I deserve; there are boys who treat me like I am something incedible and like I am valuable.
