you wanna know what I hate about growing up

when you meet someone new, you don’t really meet someone new you meet a new person with characteristics that remind you of your old friends or neighbors, of those who are no longer in your life. yeah, they’re a new person, they’re unique and individual in their thoughts and ideas but they laugh like your ex and their hand gestures remind you of the kid who sat next to you in four period chemistry and your coworker looks just like your teammate from middle school. sometimes it’s a blissful reminiscence but sometimes it sends you back to a time you wish you could just move on from.

honestly i just wanna meet someone completely new.
