Found a precious little void in the apartment parking lot. She is super sweet and in amazing condition so she must belong to someone. Keeping her with us for the night since it is gonna get so cold.

We are going to put up found signs in the neighborhood and see if she is chipped. But part of me hopes we just got a new family member

Damn i had a dream I found a little black kitten that looked almost exactly like Everest at that age but with more white on his tummy and like my whole family fell in love with him so I had no choice but to adopt him even tho we couldn't afford him but like worth it

I woke up and started crying tho

#2 years without a cat is too long goddammit #up to the point where Everest died there was a total of four weeks in my life where i didn't have a cat #the two weeks between my birth and my hormonal mom impulsively taking in a stray kitten she named Pyewacket #then the 2 weeks between Pye dying and my adopting Nerys when i was twelve #and then Everest overlapped with Nerys for 12 years until cancer took them both in the same year #it's been a rough 2 years being a cat person without a cat #even my therapist says i need a cat but my income is severely restricted #the pet deposit alone at this apartment is $500 and the pet rent is $50 #and the standard vet bills even discounting any potential chronic issues or emergencies #and pet health insurance because oh my God I'm not doing the can't afford cat cancer treatments thing AGAIN #the tragedy is that the shelters around here are overcrowded and constantly doing $15 or even free adoptions #which even include spaying and neutering and the first round of vaccines #but there's still the yearly rabies vaccine and yearly appointments at the least #and getting good quality food #and litter #and new toys bc the old ones are either tucked away in the Box Of Sad or having been donated #and a new cat tree bc theirs went to a friend and whooof those aren't cheap #and my apartment is small so I'll need a cat wheel and those aren't cheap either #it's just not in the (credit) cards right now #pet death tw #dreams
