Apparently the people who organised the Italian Family Day not only are entitled enough to feel they have the right to organise a protest against the idea of giving some people the rights all others have, but are also persuaded their convictions override mathematics. Maybe it shouldn’t be so surprising, given how one of their slogans was: “no gender in school” (what does that even mean?).

They declared there were a million people to their “protest”. Too bad the square they occupied (roughly 15′000 square meters in surface) would need a density of 66 people per square meter to make them one million, this without considering the presence of a stage. 

True, there were people in the adjacent streets too, nonetheless to have enough space to place one million people one would need 16 squares as big as the one they occupied.  This time the numbers given by the police sound more realistic: 400′000 people makes sense (it is still a very generous number). 

Still a depressing number, but, at least, one that doesn’t clash with reality.

Just a curiosity: what University Faculty do you plan to attend?

I love science, so naturally I’d like to work with some aspect of it in the future. I’ve been thinking about majoring in chemistry or biology. Or becoming an engineer. I’m still not 100% sure what specific field I’d like to major in though (mainly bc I’m interested in everything and want to know everything *sighs* limitations limitations..). :) xx
