drawing hornet to chase the pain away (summer games fest 2025)
About why I ship SolKy and how in the current state of the Guilty Gear canon:
I've always been a bit of a canon compliance freak and still am for the most part. For this game I decided to be the opposite and I think it's important to note.
I'm very new to GG and discovered it with Strive. The story is messy and convoluted but that's okay. It was all okay until I heard about the Sol Badguy being Dizzy's dad thing.
I read and read and searched and checked opinions and ujderstood that the game offers No explanation beyond that mention in a weird comical scene. I tried to explore all alleys on how this works in canon and the only one i found that doesn't involve timespace weirdness (deux ex machina timespace-explains-it-all bs), the only way it could work barely makes Any sense too.
I have thus completely rejected this aspct of the story and do not consider Sol and Dizzy related and thus he's not Ky's father in law. Until further more explicit confirmation I'd also prefer to keep seeing Jack O' (<33) as a chosen family figure to Frederick. She's 1 year World Experience old, they know each other for a few months only and he's been tutoring and papa-bird to her. I find the idea of romance a bit funky for a couple of other reasons too.
I'd happily elaborate but it'd make this post way too long. I'm going through the story mode of all games now so I'll see where i stand by the end of that
A fan gets sucked into Supernatural and put in Dean's body
Which one would you read about in a fic?
The super saiyan fuse into one being
Standard spn possession where they can communicate via reflections and stuff
Dean absorbs all their memories and is Confused
Body Swap (Dean now in the real world in their body)
The Fully Replace Dean (aka, Sam: who's Dean? You're my older sibling.)
They just are in Dean's body now doing stuff
Alternate personality that comes out under the right circumstances
Yami Yugi possession (physical changes to the body when they take over)
There are now Two Deans (a doppledeaner if you will)
Some other thing I haven't thought of
Headcanon that Jason had crooked teeth so when Bruce adopted him, among the many, many things they did to get his neglected body in shape, Jay also got braces. By the time he died his teeth were straight and braceless, but the Lazarus pit returned his body back to natural state and gave him his crooked teeth back.
Cue Dick seeing Jason grin again for the first time since his death and wondering why his smile looks more feral, spiraling into thinking about how his little brother has changed and become a monster, only to realize that no, his subconscious is associating things with the fact that his Little Wing has crooked teeth again. It's actually just Jason. No monster, no metamorphosis, just his little brother.
Also yes, this is a metaphor for how Jason wasn't changed or made by the Lazarus pit, though that narrative is easier for his family to tell themselves than to ponder over whether or not Jason maybe has a point.
holy shit these choices-
I cant- HELP HAHAHAHAHAAH
as someone in the comments said, we tip our hats to Intern-kun for this comedy gold
We are on a ticking time bomb to which mutual gets a tommyinnit like next.
Searching for book recs yet again: I'm looking for a book similar to the movie Scream, by which I mean a fun mismatch group of teens type whodunnit thriller horror that's a little self aware and a little darkly comedic but still genuinely mysterious/edge of your seat creepy, like it's not to the point of parody. Also a 90s critic would unironically call it hip.
